I like your choice of stone for the fireplace.

The stone and the Trex deck color are the two things that must inform the color palette for the entire exterior.

You can't just arbitrarily pick out paint colors - you probably already know that.

We'd need to establish core hue families found in the stone and then lower the value to find the medium-dark gray for the body and a darker charcoal gray for the beams.

How dark the beams can go will depend on the species of wood if you are indeed "staining" with an opaque stain. The whole stain business is complicated.

I don't like to tell people they need to go hire a color consultant who knows paint really well, but in your case it would be well worth the money to hire one.

Thanks Lori for your input. I think the stone is a smart place to start. And indeed staining the cypress beams could get tricky.

Cypress.... yeah. Stain is tricky but so worth the trouble when you get it right.

Aw peppercorn on the house, sw iron ore on the trim and still thinking about painting the beams a solid stain to match the window trim. So hard to tell but I think the cypress beams look unfinished natural and I’m worried I won’t be able to pick out a stain that is the right one.
