To Demo or Not to Demo

this is the view from our entry way. it's a small home. the nook to the right is still being tweaked, but it has purpose, so I don't think knocking that wall down is an option. the mirrored wall to the left is an interesting situation... the left mirrored wall has to stay because there's a TV unit behind it and electrical. behind it is our sitting room with a good amount of natural light provided by sliding doors. we don't want to entirely remove the wall, but are open to making the right side of the mirrored wall a half wall with a plant ledge. would that be strange? it feels like the house is begging for more flow and natural lighting and I'm not sure what the best way to accomplish that is. thanks in advance!!

I think it would be unbalanced unless you took both down to a pony wall. I think my first option would be to get rid of the mirror so there is balance there.

thanks for your input! do you think removing the mirror would make the room smaller though? it's a tiny house to begin with

Patti, I was at a pondstore in March to buy some liner. I saw one clerk sell an Aquascape pond owner pond sludge remover (bacteria) plus bio balls (to replace the lava rock) then beneficial bacteria (AGAIN....Lol) to "seed the filter material" and then sell her "clarifier". Good luck! We are less than a week away from demo, and my feelings fluctuate between excitement and total anxiety! Many decisions have been made, but I know there are so many more to come....the biggest of which is actually deciding on the granite slab tomorrow. Hope your cats "go with the flow" (pardon the pun!?) and find the new location of their litter box. I'm a bit worried about our blind dog's reaction when everything is moved out of the kitchen. I know she won't have trouble finding the food, but she gets confused when we move furniture, so this will be quite an upheaval in her life : ( Let's all remember that we chose to do this...and have confidence that, in the end, it will all be worth it!

I cheated and didn't put the cords in so they are just sort of floating there. I know it'd be more expensive, but the creative part of me says 3 lights, especially if you used the Brandy pendant from LBL as they are very slendar.....it is my favorite for color. Also, with the S monorail, I'm not sure they'd be as lined up as I have them. Did you try the paper plate or balloon trick I've read about here on the forum to see where they'd hang?
