The only appliance we paneled is the DW. With the panel, it looks identical to the trash cab on the other side of the sink cab. Both doors have the same handle/pull as all the other doors/drawers, but for those two doors (and the over the fridge cab) we used the 12" size pull (8" on almost all the rest). The fridge and the stove; KA built-in and Wolf range, are not paneled, and have their own factory-installed handles. IMHO, they all look fine together.

Hi, I had the same problem but due to budget. I have a Subzero all refrigerator and a Subzero all freezer 600 series both with Kraftmaid cabinet panels. I looked everywhere for large and long pulls but the price was $300 + and that was completely out of the question per door. I went on Ebay and looked at antique door pulls and found two matching antique brass door pulls for $65.00 for the pair. They are about 12" long but meaty and I love them. My husband thought they wouldn't work but they have been on a year now and really look great. I have Amrock cabinet handles that were $8.00 at Expo I found on a website called D. Lawless Hardware for $3.25 each big savings as I needed 50 for my kitchen. If I could figure out how to post a picture I would post it. Good Luck

nancyaustin - Yes, I am very happy with my RH pulls and knobs. I actually used several different versions in my 6 bathrooms as well as in my kitchen. They are well made, feel nice in the hand and come in a wonderful variety of sizes. (except, of course, appliance sized!) I actually did use a 6" pull for my DW's and it's working fine. Here's a pic showing the knobs and pulls I used - one of them is Ephram, but I don't remember which! and here's a pic of my SZ refrigerator pulls from Home Depot. I don't remember the brand, but they had a lot of this brand in stock when I checked it. They were so reasonable compared to what I was finding online that I thought they'd look or feel cheap somehow, but they are really great. (They are 18" center to center.)

Since many people on this board are building a "forever house" and care about aging-in-place, I vote against knobs. As you age, they'll be the most problematic to pull open. The easiest thing for aging would probably be a wiiiiiiide staple-type pull or similar. These have the added benefit of doubling as a towel holder. However, I do agree that I'd hit my hip or catch my clothes on them. And they're more modern-looking than I want. Between cup pulls and handles, I don't see a great deal of difference in functionality. I vote for a combination of them: cup pulls on the lower drawers, handles on the upper cabinets. Another question worth mentioning: What type of material ages well? In my kitchen, I have antique brass, which has been in place probably a decade. It still looks great. No visible wear, and they weren't expensive items in the first place. In my bathroom I have builder-grade junk: I don't know what material it is, but it's a goldish tone painted white on the front (okay, perhaps it was white all over when it was new around 1970?). It's 100% functional, not a single handle is in bad shape. The look is quite outdated, but no complaints about the function.
