Comments (4)Hi Jeanne, Searching members trade lists works for me. I just tried it by following the member Page link at the bottom of the pages from Suggestions-(forums.gardenweb) Bulbs (forums2.gardenweb) Money Saving Tips (ths.gardenweb) Is the link you are using possibly one you had saved to your favs or something maybe and it is obsolete? How exactly did you get that link and message? What Forum? Where at on the forum? Maybe it is just a different way to get to the search than the way I go. Maybe it is just from one, or a few forums. I have the actual search members list saved to a GW misc folder and usually access it from there. Comments (3)I'm sorry for not answering sooner; had to go away over the weekend. First, let me thank the two of you for introducing me to CCleaner. I downloaded it and expect to find it useful. I'll explain what I did in detail, just in case anyone else ever has the same problem. After getting back last night, I was successful in saving images in IE, but FireFox was still no good. Figuring it was something wrong with FF, I found a disturbing entry in FF's Tools>Error Console, calling a certain path in the computer "Not well-formed," but there was no explanation of how to deal with it. Removing FireFox via the Control Panel and reinstalling it did no good, nor did disabling all my add-ons and deleting temp files and cache. In the end, getting desperate, I backed up the Bookmarks and Scrapbook folders in my FF Profile, then I went to C:\Documents and Settings\[my user name]\Application Data\Mozilla, and deleted the entire Mozilla folder so as to force the new FF install to create a new one. This time, the new FF--though all my Bookmarks, Scrapbook add-on entries, and all the other add-ons I used to have were gone--worked right, and I was able to capture pictures again. I re-downloaded all the extension add-ons I had had before, and now everything is fine. At first, of course, my Bookmarks toolbar was gone, and I use it constantly, so that was a bit scary, but after moving the backup folder from the CD to my FF Profile folder, I got the toolbar back, and I was able to do the same thing for all my Scrapbook entries. If anyone else tries this, be sure to make a backup of your Bookmarks and Scrapbook (if you have that add-on) and also make a list of your add-ons and be sure you have a record of all the passwords FireFox has been remembering for you. Happy, happy, happy!...See MoreLayout help please! Am I sacrificing too much function for style?
Comments (25)So, let's say you turn the corner again with base cabs. Could the oven stack be on the end of that leg with the cooktop to the right of it or even in the corner? Is that wall 7'5" to the corner of the other cabinets or to the wall? Honestly and amazingly... every inch matters which is why it's so important to get the dimensions of the room exact on graph paper. I had lots of ideas about my kitchen that when I really got to the inches of it... couldn't make it work the way that I envisioned. I went through oh, so much graph paper. My gut feeling is that no matter if you turn the corner or not, that island is too long. And especially so if you turn the corner with cabs again, (which might be a good answer to some of your appliance placement issues.) I read that the architect thinks it's a 'cleaner' look without that, but it might be borking the functionality... hence your title, right? :) As it is drawn now, you've got a real pinch point between the end of the island where you want your stool and the end of the table and chairs by the sliding door. But, I'm going by what may be inexact drawings so I could be all wet on this....See MorePlease comment this layout- repost, edited greatly
Comments (15)For me, the 24" pantry location would be a terrible place for the fridge. Way too much trouble to get to while cooking. I would much rather leave it as is, since, as I said, I know that's not a terrible situation to live with. Exactly how much room is there between stove and fridge? I had only 12". For the prep sink, I meant the corner of the island so it can be accessed from both the stove and the table sides...So the corner pointing toward the fridge and family room. (Table side, right end) Corner cooktops aren't the best choice for everyone, but with the short stove side and long sink run, it could be just the answer you need to keep the fridge handy to the stove, and still not ruin anything else that works about your layout. Good call, Bmore. How about putting the pantry and maybe the broom closet where you now have the ovens and make a baking ctr and oven area beside the butler's pantry? You could then use the table side of the island for bigger baking projects and it'd be handy to the prep sink in the location I suggested. Here is a visual, including Bmore's corner cooktop:...See MoreDawnInCal
