Comments (4)The 'Lanzam' (selling name Lancelot) mentioned is one such dwarf. It's from Lake County (wholesale) nursery in Perry, OH. They have made multiple other dwarf flowering crabapple selections, although so far 'Lanzam' is the only one I remember seeing at outlets here. And one batch looked like the cultivar was going to turn out to be too scabby for us, spotting already present at earliest stages in leaf development. Sargent crabapple is genetically dwarf and disease-resistant. A pink form on the market here is pretty nice in bloom. I've planted a couple of them myself. Not remembering the naming at the moment, but it might be this one - certainly looks similar. Here is a link that might be useful: Malus 'Parrsi'...See MoreCrabapple with non-crabapple branch
Comments (4)They are both malus "snowdrift". I'm not sure whether I properly pruned it. It was cut flush with the trunk. Also, ken, did you mean "kamikaze"? Kemosabe means a trusted friend. I think you meant to imply that I was causing my tree to kill itself. We have lots of new growth on the trees and they all look similar to the leaves that were already there. This was one branch, directly attached to the trunk and one of the lowest branches. Thanks all!...See MoreWhy did dwarf lime lose all leaves except one, other citrus is ok
Comments (2)Miracle grow potting soil actually is not much more than a bag of peat moss. If regular potting soils are used they have be admended with wood chips, CHC, cedar chips, pine bark or other coarse material to help increas the draining and root zone aeration. I know growers that have used Maricle Grow's Garden Soil with success, still I would recomend adding coarse material to that. . If you pull your trees out I'm sure you will find that your tree's root system are in real trouble. With all the water that Miracle Grow Potting Mix holds, the trees's roots must be starved for oxygen. -S-...See Moremy leaves on my dwarf lime and orange are drooping can any one help me
