Filling gap between whirlpool and tile

Hi

I am trying to update our master bath. The bath has a whirlpool tub built into a cabinet. The whirlpool sits on tile. There use to be a mess of caulk all around the tile-to-tub transition. I have been removing much of this. It was both silicone and latex...looks like silicone was put over the latex later on. I plan to regrout the tile gaps and other tile-tile seems. I really want this to look neat. The big challenge is what to do with the tile-tub seem.
Options....

1) I could redue it with caulk and make sure the lines are straight using tape.
2) Use grout
3) use some sort of tape-like caulk product
4) use a small pice of cove trim...maybe a plastic type and seal it in with caulk

What would be the best option?

Also is there a good way to remove silicone caulk off acrylic ?

Grout should never be used at a change of plane. Caulk is the proper solution.

Thanks...What about the corner between the whirlpool tile and the tile on the wall?

be careful with colour-matching caulk and rubbing it in with a finger, per stone tech. There will be a lot of excess mess to clean up. Recommend removing most of it with a soft blade, i use a piece of wood with a suitable edge, it prevents scuffing the vinyl. Then carefully and thoroughly remove ALL residue with a damp cloth. Any residue will dry and stay tacky and pick up alot of grime and soon the entire floor will look like heck. Left over residue is difficult to see and you won't know it's there until the smudge appears. If that happens you need to clean entire affected area using soapy water and mild scrub pads. Just sayin'.

"He coated the dry wall with the water resistant red material." Hopefully he did not use drywall but cement board as drywall with Redguard is a big no. Drywall has not been approved for this type application for years.

@live_wire_oak and @weedmeister thanks for the tip. Looks like the Costco installer was an amateur. I asked him the exact same question and he mentioned the grates will be aligned and not the top of the stove. He also never checked the level. I guess I will call them and ask if they can send someone more knowledgeable over. For the back it says 1inch gap is enough but who knows, looks like no one knows what they are doing anymore. Also, I am hoping that once I install the microwave on top the vent will be pretty good and quickly remove any heat. @wacokid yeah I wish I never asked the question about cooktop + wall oven below the cooktop (instead of raised in the wall) on Houzz. After hearing it is not a popular combo in the US, I decided to demolish my current setup and change. Big mistake! Thanks for the filler options @Shannon_WI.

What in world did he do? That tile looks like it has nowhere near enough mortar behind it (should be full spread 100% coverage). I think I see Red in there in one photo but did he actually waterproof? Tell me there is cement board back there and not just a continuation of the green board as that is not allowed in a wet area, period. Looks to me like you can fix the gap when that is gutted back to the studs.

Ground should never be used at a change of plane. Caulk is the proper solution, and there are caulks that match grout colors.

It doesn’t look level in the hole? Or like the hole was cut too large? You might want to do more investigating on that installation before you do anything. Does it have an access panel? That’s one thing that a lot of inspectors fail to catch, even though it’s required.
