Ideas for a puzzle wall

im new to this y'all but im looking for comments and/or ideas on something like this. i do quite a few puzzles and rather then breaking them down i glue them together. I dont like the idea of framing them and came across this and would like to do a wall. what i guess im wondering is what i should use for the borders? trim? i have my puzzles glued on foam board, with spray adhesive, a little smaller than the puzzle itself. any suggestions on hanging them? i dont want to go through the puzzle pieces so would i use wire? or the stick on picture hangers?

thanks for the help and my bad if this isnt the place to go for my answers.

So, by "borders" you mean the grid? That can be easily created with MDF trim in a width of your choice. 1x2, 1x3, 1x4 all readily available. Easy to put up, easy to paint. If you want to just display the puzzles without the gridwall, you could just glue a couple of small strips of wood to the back of the foam board and hang them individually shadowbox style - where they float an inch off the wall.

It would make me crazy in about 2 days I love art but to me puzzles are not art they have a purpose and they are fun but I think they look tacky when glued and hung. I love kids art and if I was going to do a wall like that it would be kids real art. BTW it sometimes takes a while for answers so do not repost the question.

Fun2BHere -- In our current living room, we did exactly that (covered a window entirely with drapes and positioned the TV in front of it), so that's an option that we can do again, if nothing else works out! cloudy_christine -- The question about traffic usage is a good one, and the answer is purely hypothetical at this point as we're still waiting to close. The door two doors you asked about lead to what will be Nate's home office (on the south wall) and the other goes into a small hallway that has the first floor bath, with my laundry area, and then into the kitchen. So I imagine there will be a fair amount of traffic through there. k9arlene -- I had that same thought, and it was actually my first choice for the TV because it seems like a natural place for it. That wall is only a few inches wider than 4 feet, and the TV itself is exactly 4 feet long. So it will fit -- barely -- but without actually putting the TV up in person, I'm not sure how it will look. The wall the TV is on in the diagrams is nearly 6 feet wide if you don't include the fireplace and hearth projection, so probably closer to 5 feet of actual wall space. Thank-you everyone for trying to help! It's a puzzle for sure, but at least I have a few things I can try out.

I just got home from being out of town and I've been itching to plug your space in to the Ikea planner. I hope you don't mind me posting this even though it sounds like you've made a decision. I do think a better use of your space is to get the fridge out of the primary work area; you'll gain 30ish inches of valuable counter space in there. If you can change the opening from the living room, I think it'll work. This drawing shows a four foot opening starting five feet from the dining area window wall. I also put a pantry next to the fridge to spare counter space. I had to guess on some dimensions. If you're considering Ikea, this layout with the off-white shaker style Ikea fronts (Grimslov), all drawer base cabinets, 40 inch tall uppers and a 18 inch wide pantry shelf is around $3700.

Get a small pub table or drop leaf table and put it on the kitchen wall to the right of the Den. Then you have more living room space to arrange furniture. I think Hemina's suggestion is on the right track with the TV placement.

You can get trim pieces at Home Depot. Look in the mill work department to see what you like.

So you want a border but not a frame? Do you want to hang them in a grid like the inspiration picture or just randomly on the wall?

I have actually a separate wall dedicated to my almost 5year old sons art/school stuff.
and yeah i dont necessarily want them individually framed and i like this grid type of idea. i was trying to figure out what should/could be used to make the borders. all i can think of that would work would be like Trim but im not sure if there was other suggestions.

btw i didnt mean to repost this question. i posted it once and the comments said the pictures never uploaded and i cant edit a post when using the app so i went to my browser and it said i deleted the old post and then i uploaded this one with the pictures. im sorry about that.

This is exactly why I don't come here often. Incredibly tacky answer for a so-called "pro." Someone even had a separate thread on answers being not very nice. It's not about YOU. It's about what the poster is looking for. If you were my decorator, I'd fire you in a heartbeat. Moving on....

FWIW, I found this puzzle wall a wonderful idea! It made it fun and pleasing. I think the foam board using stick on picture hangers is a great idea, although be ready for it to damage the wall. They can do that. I would try just one and see how well it works. Hanging with wire I'd think would make it crooked.
