I posted a while ago and never came back to answer the questions- sorry! I can give an update: Weve had the range for about 18 months now and we are very happy with it. We use the griddle very often, the grill insert from time to time The steam oven works well- no water on the floor- the water container has a lid that closes before you slip it in the slot. My only complaint- the small oven does not brown evenly on convention bake- I baked 2 pies in there at Thanksgiving (one at a time)- and the tops browned more at the back end of the over- had to be careful and cover with aluminum foil to avoid burning. We've had problems with the circular thermometer in the center of the range- In my opinion this is a silly feature - it does not really reflect the temperature inside the oven as i moves immediately on setting on or off, and something was wrong with the way it was wired into our range- the wires came loose at least twice- we had the warranty so repair was completely free - might as well since it was free, and now its been fine - I wouldnt pay to repair this as it is not very useful. I have never used self clean- and after readying about frying electronics I have elected to not use that feature and clean the oven myself.

I'll be following this because I came here to ask the same question. What little I know: The rotisserie apparently works well, although very messy. However, that's the nature of a rotisserie and that has nothing to do with the Thermador brand as opposed to any other.

Hi guys. Yes, I actually placed my order the same day I made the OP. We went with model HRG4808U-LP. It’s a 48” with the griddle. The griddle is great for pancakes, but anything that might splatter grease ends up making a mess. Both oven thermostats are accurate. If you have propane, I think some vendors offer a unit that already has the LP kit installed. I did the conversion myself. If you’re not mechanically inclined, I’d recommend having it done. I’ve never used one of the high end ranges in this style so I can’t compare the Thor to anything. The stainless probably isn’t the highest grade, and it will scratch if you’re not paying attention. I’ve had no problems keeping it clean with a wash cloth and warm soap & water. Wipe down with a very fine layer of olive oil and she shines up quite nicely. I installed the range in October 2017. I’ve had one problem where I got to experience their customer service. The igniter on the main oven burner was either mounted a hair too close to the burner, or the burner had a weak spot in the metal. Either way, the igniter burned a small hole in the burner tube. This caused the metal in the tube to flex and make contact with the igniter…shorting it out. Once I figured out the problem, I contacted Thor customer service. I explained what I’d found, and they asked if I needed a technician to come to my house to make the repairs. I told the lady I didn’t need a service call and that I just needed parts. They overnighted a new burner and igniter. Though I’m slightly disappointed that I had a breakdown, I don’t think Thor could have handled my issue any better. I coupled the range with the Thor HRH4805U Range Hood. The hood is awesome, but it results in a lot of stainless in one area of the kitchen. I purchased both from Dvorson’s in CA. They gave me the best deal and were great to work with. I’ve attached all the pictures I could find. Please pardon the mess in some of them. I’ll try to respond faster if y’all have any additional questions. Bottom line; I’d definitely purchase again.

Let me try this again! :) Seems the website has issues occasionally. Others on this site were so helpful to me in my planning that I'm happy to pay it forward. We also removed the wall between our kitchen and dining room. I'll start by saying we spent a lot of time researching appliances before our remodel but focused primarily on Thermador/Wolf/Miele. A steam oven became a top priority for me and built in coffee for my husband. Luckily we were able to spend a good amount of time in showrooms, cooking instructions, etc to really play around with the appliances before purchasing. Cost was of consideration, but it wasn't the deciding factor. Thermador had both the largest steam oven (and I wanted a double oven) and a plumbed coffee maker. (That is were Wolf lost us) Additionally, the size of their appliances fit well within our layout. (Miele SO is 24" wide). The package deal made it worth while to go entirely Thermador. We've been using our kitchen for a little over 6 months now and are very happy. (Only thing I am so so one is the microdrawer. Not because of performance, but I personally prefer my microwave to be higher, but that didn't work in our layout so it got stuck in the island.) Re induction - this is my first time having an induction cooktop and I don't think I'll ever go back to gas. I got it because I have two young children and it is safer when cooking with them. The performance is surprisingly amazing (highs and lows) and clean up is a breeze! I chose the Thermador Liberty after playing around with the Freedom and not caring as much for the controls on that model. As part of the package, the downdraft and blower were included - but if not part of the package they are sold seperately. I highly encourage you to check induction out if you are not a die hard gas fan and you're doing downdraft. Make sure to read the specs because some have more output than others. (I think our model is fairly equivolent to the Bosch Benchmark induction. If you don't go the Thermador package route, check that out as it is cheaper.) Our counters are Maldives quartzite. Love them - family friendly. Make sure to test your quartzite if possible before purchasing to make sure it won't stain or etch ( issues noted on this site with marble or dolomite being mislabeled taught me that). Cost was more than quartz, but well worth the splurge for the bookmatched slabs and natural beauty! You didn't ask - but including a pic of our beverage center. If you are doing the Thermador package you mind as well go all out! :) I would say if you do coffee - make sure it is plumbed, otherwise too much work IMO. Good luck!
