I went on a Norweigan Bermuda cruise in 2006 for my grandparent's 50th anniversary. It was fun! I believe we stayed 3 nights around the island, moving a bit each evening. It was plenty of time because the port hours were expanded compared to most cruise ports. We were able to leave early and I don't think we had to be back on the ship till midnight.

5 days is probably enough but I'd personally do 7. But I love cruising so the longer the better for me.

As for the balconies, it really depends on the ship. I've had some that would comfortably fit 4 and some that barely fit 2.

We were in Bermuda for five days in the spring a couple of years ago. It was too cool for beach stuff and we felt like we had managed to see everything else in 5 days. It is a very small island. We really enjoyed our time there.

ETA: we once took a Caribbean cruise and we had a cabin at the back of the ship. bothe cabin and deck were significantly larger than that of our travelling companions who were on the outside side of the ship.

Bermuda is my favorite place. Used to be more fun when they allowed ships to dock in Hamilton. Now almost all ships are in the old Navy dockyard . Getting into Hamilton requires a water taxi or regular taxi. They have a street fair on Wednesday night, music , food , and art work. Easiest way to see Bermuda is by hiring a taxi driver for a full day or half day. You can do a beach, Hamilton loop or do the whole island and visit St Georges. There is a nice calm swimming area near St Georges. Bermuda is a really nice place to visit, pretty as you approach, clean , and lovely people. I have been there by ship 14 times, most recently last September. I believe the cruise ships stop sometime in October and start in April. Be aware that you will get cigarette smoke from adjoining balconies. Not a problem if you smoke or are not bothered by smoke. I would not use a balcony after my first experience. Hope you get to go there.

Now I want to go there! I was there as a child, I think I was 7 or so and I remember how pretty it was. Fields of hibiscus, pink sand beaches, we stayed in a cottage on a bluff. It was so cool.

I was there once, about 10 years ago for a 5 day visit. It's a pleasant place with nice people. We found Bermuda to be relatively staid and conservative and didn't find anything about it to be particularly compelling for a return visit.

It's a long trip from the West Coast that we thought wasn't worth it compared to going to Hawaii. Hawaii is so much more interesting with more diversity of cultures and things to do.

When you do a short cruise, it really is all about the journey. You should like the idea of being on a ship, the spa treatments, the pool, the entertainment, the various dining options etc. Participating in whatever the ship has to offer.

To answer your question, two days is not enough time, but it will give you a feel for Bermuda and should you wish to return, fly there and stay longer.

All ships are different. For specific questions I would call the cruise line.

A friend who cruises quite a bit said that Bermuda doesn't have very many hotel rooms and therefore they are often much more expensive than comparable rooms in other comparable places, and sometimes you simply can't find a room. So she said that cruising there is the best option.

It was several years ago that she told me that so I don't know it there is any truth to that anymore. (or even if there ever was)

Smoking is not allowed on cruise ship balconies any longer. There are designated places on the ship where people who smoke can congregate. Makes it much nicer for the rest of us who don't smoke.

A visit to Bermuda by air with hotel reservations and restaurant dining can be a budget buster. Great if you know before you get there. Food costs are similar to eatting in a large city. I always say once you have dined in New York city, nothing scares you. A cruise is mostly all inclusive.

I can recomend Celebrity highly, for what they offer. Their ship is smaller, 2,100 people vs 4,100 on Norweigen. If you are beach people, be sure to check the air and water temps for the dates you plan to visit. I love flowers and always plan to travel when plantings are at their best.

We have cruised there several times. It is lovely to see once or twice. As was mentioned it was much nicer when they docked in Hamilton and St, George's. You could walk a short distance to the beach. They have now" created " a port in the Dock Yard. If I recall it is touristy and feels fake to me ( I think there is a created sandy beach area). I do not drink alcohol and felt that they try to push drinking, especially rum.

Three days there is plenty. It will be nice for you to see it.

We rented a cottage on st. David’s rather than a hotel room. It was wonderful, but we prefer a quieter setting and liked being away from the hustle of busier areas. We bused to Hamilton and St. George’s island a few times. Busing was easy and fun.
