I'm going to join in on the "warming" trend. Do you actually work from home? There is a difference from actually WORKING and working. If your work depends on it, then the room needs to be productive and comfortable. If it's not a full time job, then you have more options based on your preferences. It looks like a nice sized space. If you are going to be doing Zoom meetings or anything where the wall behind you is in view, consider the color and decor for THAT wall to be especially important. Maybe a focal color as a good backdrop to shelves, artwork, or credentials. Where did you get the sofa? I really like it and it looks to be about the right size and color for MY home office, lol so anything you can tell me about it would be appreciated!

Pamhatten, great bath makeover, I am impressed! Tannatonk, I love orange with gray and white. A cute orange chair and a few pillows would be great accents for your new guest/study. One of our extra bedrooms is also functioning as my study, with a desk and my laptop. I am using it far more than my dedicated study in the old house, go figure. Fully2, although I find the wrought iron porch rails with the scrolls very nostalgically appealing, those new, straight sided porch railings are a very smart look and will update your house the Minute they are up. Our bathroom project is in full swing. Tub/shower demo-Ed Monday, new toilet and vanity going in today and possibly wallpaper. I now realize it was a mistake not to replace the tile floor, but it was in good condition and I didn’t think (at the time) that it looked awful. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being totally unacceptable and 10 being the platonic ideal of a tile floor, I would give it a 4. 😢. OTOH I have never actually used that bathroom and have only been in it twice so I have Made Up My Mind not to complain.

Wow, so excited to see such good and varied inputs on my request! Thanks @Flo Mangan - I am now certainly going for a ladder shelf for the corner. I am not sure of moving the desk away from its existing place for precisely the reasons @functionthenlook mentioned - my desk job can sometimes result in 8-9 hours, and I do plenty of video calls throughout the day. So not only is it nice for me to have a view (which BTW Flo is right, it is limited since the windows are a bit above my eye level (photo of the view below)) but it is also pleasant to have light on my face. Further, the remaining space in the room comes in handy when the occasional extra guests stay over and the sofa beds need to be pulled out. Thanks everyone for all the rug options - this weekend is going to be (window) shopping weekend :)
