Several years ago, a true horticultist, told me the same thing. He got rid of it by applying Lime. I used the wrong stuff and had lime dust everywhere. I need to get the granules and try that again. The good news is that according to several sites, St Augustine grows: "Augustine grass grows satisfactorily at a pH range from 5.0 to 8.5, ... St. Augustine grass is sensitive to iron deficiency and readily develops chlorotic symptoms in ..." from the Aggie site, and "Optimum pH for St. Augustine grass is between 6.0 and 8.5." from the CTAHR site. and several others. That means it will tolerate lime well. Could not find the PH for Dollarweed. Here a "weird logic" guess. If it is an aqua plant, won't it have evolved in the PH of ground, lake, stream water, thus prefer that PH? Certainly worth a try. Even if it is a 3'x3' area. Thanks for bringing that up, Rita. Bob

So I ran the photo through color palette fx and came up with this. I then took the blue and the purple and ran it through encycolorpedia to find the closest SW matches. It came up with Rapture Blue and Kimono Violet which is really not very close...neither is Passionate Purple. I think you can do better with trying to color match, if you want to get those shades. However, you may prefer a grayed down version as those colors are very strong. Your alternative is to run a molding strip or a strip of wallpaper border somewhere below the line of the curve so you create a break between wall and ceiling. I'd hate to paint a strong color on the ceiling only because I'd hate to have to paint over it. Also, depending on the height of the ceiling and the size of the room, it can get very "small" in there.

Hi, Over the last 3 years I have installed the following casement windows. Summary: Of the 3 windows I have now installed I would probably go with the Marvin "Essential" All Ultrex windows if I wanted an All Fiberglass double pane window. Unfortunately they do not offer a triple pane option for the Essential series. If we ever build new or have to redo windows in our next home, I will likely go with the Marvin "Elevate" Wood Interior / Fiberglass Exterior Triple Pane windows. Or I would further investigate the other higher end triple pane fiberglass options on the market. Since I live in MN and Marvin is based in MN and they are really nice windows, I would probably pick the Marvin Elevate's triple pane still. The other higher end fiberglass options may have better thermal glass spacers, but I think with a triple pane, this likely matters much less compared to double pane glass spacers for condensation resistance. The real advantage of a triple pane window is you can use any window blinds/shades you want and still have no condensation. For my double panes I have to open our blinds around 12 inches so the bottom of the window is exposed to the room otherwise they get pretty bad condensation on colder nights which completely defeats the purpose of having fancy thermal efficient double cell cellular blinds. Likely due to the fibrex material's coefficient of thermal expansion and mediocore frame design that allows the thermal expansion/contraction to deflect the frame.
