Question about depth of grout in bathroom tile floor
Comments (3)Thanks for the quick response, Bill! I really trust my contractor because he's done a really excellent job with everything. So... I would guess its an acceptable drop, just not something I'm used to having. I certainly don't want to start grinding my stone down!! Thanks again for the quick answer. I'll talk to him again tomorrow and we'll decide if the level is O.K. He's always willing to go the extra mile to make me happy!...See Morecolor sealer for bathroom tile grout lines?
Comments (1)It's called "Colorant", and yes, I've used it several times before. The only one I've used is Aquamix's, so that's the only one I can speak for. It's a 1 part epoxy based coating that's tough as nails, and will renew the look of any grout, whether you're trying to bring back the original color or change it to something completely different....See MorePros and Cons: Floor Tile With Large Grout Lines
Comments (17)Thanks to all of you for your personal experiences! Chispa, Your point about the ka-chunk is valid, since I may use a wheelchair someday, and will be using a wheeled walker and a wheeled stool. While the wheelchair's tires may not do that, the stool's wheels will, and moving around on the uneven floor will be difficult for that stool. I think that I was not letting myself see that the tile really would leave an uneven floor surface. I was thinking that the slippery surface was not an issue because of all of the grout, so your experience is helpful there, too. The tiles are only 2" x 2.25" and I was imagining the foot having contact with lots of grout with each step. If the recessed grout really does not do this, though, it is good to know! A Sawenz, this is supposed to be a floor tile, and it is porcelain, but I see your point about the PEI number. I will keep that in mind as I look at other floor tiles. I have been looking for porcelain, rather than ceramic, for the harder material....See MoreSO MANY LINES & POTENTIAL! 1970s avocado tile rental bathrooms
Comments (16)This is a long term rental! I am so loving the photos tqtqtbwprovided. That's exactly what I had in mind when I mentioned the black white and green :). We will hopefully paint the walls the same color as the "white" tile this weekend & i can update with photos! We have taken out the shelving behind the toilet, and have left both bathrooms bare so we can decide on a rug! I'm afraid to pick anything white since the tiles aren't a "true" white, they're more of an ivory shade. Of course that, too, could change with the lighting. As far as the floors, the grout is actually a dark grey color - so i'm not sure bleaching would help :(. I have gone so far as to look up temporary vinyl flooring because the floors drive me crazy. I feel like they throw the entire idea off in my head. Other than that, I'd have to assume we'd be relying on bath rugs/mats to cover what we can? The countertops will have to stay as-is, so i'm trying to work around them. I feel like they're doable until the landlord decides to update....See Morehea00
