First go shopping you need to sit in chairs so online buying. Really do not even consider a chair and 1/2 like that super wide one they are IMO the worst idea ever. You need to be careful about size and shape with that sofa I would probably do a classic piece like an Eames for instance and I have no idea why not leather it is agood fit with all that fabric Good leather breathes and that chair is one of my favorites for reading.

completely agree with sitting in a chair before buying. We live in a relatively small place and local choices are pretty limited. That's why i am asking here so that if I need to travel to test my chair then at least I know where I am going instead of just randomly going to all furniture stores.

Eames chair is great - and I did test drive it :) - but it is also 3 times my budget :(

You mentioned that I need to be careful about size and shape. Can you expand on this? Do the chairs I looked at have wrong shape? Wrong size? What should I be looking for? I hope I do not need to replace the couch. We love it - it is very, very comfortable.

I am certainly not married to the idea of chair and 1/2 for reading chair in the living room. But I am curious though why you you think they are bad ideas because I was somewhat seriously considering it for a corner in the master bedroom.

I am looking for as you called it "nesting" chair. It is not going to be used for serious/work reading so i do not want it to be tall with head support. It will be used more for light reading/ snuggling by the fireplace. It will also be used occasionally as an extra guest seat for conversations and TV viewing for short durations ( for longer movies we are using media/game room). This is why i want it to swivel so it can face either stove, couch or TV.

Interesting that for nesting chair you are giving examples of chair and 1/2 which Patricia thinks is a very bad idea.

The one in the pic is 2K a knock off but seems to be good.

The chair is often referred to as a cuddler chair, but frankly, it takes up a lot of real estate in a room. You have to sit in it because some are just slabs of foam. One popped up at the local Home Goods the other day and it was very uncomfortable.

I will do some more searching for cuddler chairs. So far once I've found seem to be too large but I'll keep looking. What would your recommendation be for a swivel reading chair that goes with our couch?

Look first from the retailer that sold you the distinctive sectional. It pretty minimal so the accent chair could be in the same design vein or it could be a contrast with a chair that is sculptural.

I know this first chair does not swivel, but it's really the perfect contrast to the sectional. C&B

Place where we got sofa from ( https://tuftytime.com/ ) only makes modular sofas so no help there.

I like first chair (in teal) but I am still hoping to find swivel chair.

I do not like next two - with the second something is off to me, may be round and straight lines contradict too much, not sure; third one feels too much like an office chair.

Last on is ok, but just ok.

I do like the shape of gwyneth chair. I am not sure the color choices would work though. Light gray I think is too light and dark blue might be too dark. Do you think one of those colors will work in our space? Chair will go where teal storage box is right now. The flower pot will be moved as well.

Went shopping over the weekend. All cuddler chairs were too large.

Saw a Fjord chair that I liked:

It's really comfortable, 2K so right at my budget. It's leather though which I did not want. Well, actually, they have a few fabrics it can come in but none that I liked.

What do you think? Will it work with our couch and general look?
