The Best solution for Illuminated counter top
Comments (1)This is not Spam. I'm the guy that told him about this site. I am thinking of doing a countertop in onxy and backlighting it. I did backlight my onyx surround on my gas fireplace I used Exnon lamps --- I figured, "There's gotta be a better way" see the pic below of my backlit fireplace You can even make out the filament of the xenon lamp (I know kinda Psycadellic)--but that wasn't what I was after. Thanks to another poster here, I found out about the company in Canada and pursued it. Feel free to critique , add info, or anything that you might think will help my fireplace. We still love the backlit Onxy thou, even thou not perfect, (YET) Gary...See MoreWhat quartzite works best with creamy White Dove cabinets? Please help
Comments (49)Yeah, same here, like it's a dolomite or marble. You get so tired of looking, you're like "I don't care any more!!" lol. Actually, it's not funny. It's a true investment that gets used daily...so it DOES need to hold up and endure. I too am a messy cook and am a person that doesn't mind if something sits on the countertop for a few hours esp when you're having a party -- what's on my countertop is my least concern!...See MoreBright white cabinets with Taj Mahal quartzite counters?
Comments (13)Recently my Dad asked sibs and I to manage a whole house remodel of his vacation home. He chose Taj Mahal for the kitchen, and it is just so so beautiful. Congrats to you on such a wonderful choice. It's so creamy and lovely. We selected bright white cabinets, but they aren't "hospital" white. I would say they are bright, but soft. We only had 3 white choices in the cabinet line, so we picked the middle one. One white was too cool and "in your face" white, and one was kind of leaning yellowy, and seemed dingy. The middle one was the best choice for us; it was bright but soft. For backsplash, we didn't want to compete with the beauty of the Taj. We chose a soft off-white 3 x 6 crackle tile installed in a typical subway tile pattern. It's Crossville, Market Collection, Ashbury, "Fleece Crackle." That collection has lots of shapes and sizes, but we chose 3 x 6. The crackle finish brings a little bit of dimension, but it's not busy, so doesn't compete with the Taj. We chose a grout that matched the tile color as closely as possible. Here's a pic of my Dad's house: Good luck with your project. I just love love love Taj. I wish I have it in my home....See MoreTaj Mahal Kitchen Counters - best cabinet colors and backsplash
Comments (18)We used BM White Dove In different sheens on the walls and woodwork to complement the polished TM Counters (but we have natural wood cabs). Our kitchen has north facing windows with lots of green trees. We compensated for the low light with 3000K (the warm-ish colored not the blue-ish colored) LED undercab and in cab lighting and sconces etc. The updated kitchen doesn’t seem dark or gray now which I was concerned about. I would definitely wait until you have the cabs installed, the counter in and some of the lighting wired in before choosing the backsplash. I was very surprised at how my original white tile choices didn’t do a thing for my counters and cabinets. good luck!...See Morejillybean103
