Hello fellow house plant freaks Sorry to hear about your Dracaena declining. My Dracaena thrives on ignorance. What was once one of my favourite house plants is now a plant that tends to be pushed out of the way every now and then. it sits underneath a fluorescent light all day and gets watered when it is dry. It has spent most of its life sitting on the floor being pushed out of the way when i needed the room and is mostly an annoyance rather than a prized specimen for me. Despite what seems like a lack of care for it, it still continues to push out new growth from the top. when the leaves crack, i give it a haircut with scissors. i can't remeber the last time i fetilized it (i dont think i have yet months after buying it at Wal-Mart in a not so good condition for 3 bucks) Sometimes i think the best thing you can do for a plant that is declining is to just ignore it and let it do it's thing. My best guess would be that it needs more light than what its currently getting. What direction does that window face? I don't own a Marginata, but the Dracaenas that I do have, they all receive very bright, indirect sunlight all day long. I have several Ponytail Palms (yeah, I know they're a completely different type of plant. I'm just referencing it as an example...) and if/when they don't receive enough sunlight, their leaves will droop and look saggy, too. Well, their newer leaves will. Once again, that's a different type of plant with different growing conditions. But the reason is the same, if they don't get sufficient energy from their light sources, then they won't be perky and erect like they should be.

Yes, mealy bug eggs, nymphs, and somewhere in those leaves the adults are hiding...I would spray also..The reason why your leaves are floppy is because you are not providing bright in-direct SUN light, like sun through sheers or greenhouse glass.....It will stay floppier than when you bought it but can still be very healthy... if your plant is in a well drawing mix, watering is right on, that means no letting it dry out since the leaves will turn yellow and fall off, no over watering since the top leaves and older ones will turn black at the tips, and the salts not from the tap and fertilizer not allowed to build up in your mix that will turn the leaves yellow on the tips by flushing your mix out once a month, it will be just fine) The stronger your plant is the less likely it will be attacked by any kind of pest looking for a weak and stressed host...

Where are you located? That info is significant. I would agree about the likelihood of sunburn. If it had been grown in shade, then it needs to be hardened off to stronger sun gradually. (Think of what would happen to a caucasian person who, after being indoors all winter, was suddenly transported to the Arizona desert for an outdoor hike with no sunscreen.) Does that pot sit flush to the ground? If so, for better drainage (I know you said the white pot has drainage holes) it might help for the pot to be sitting on little "feet" so there is a tiny bit of clearance between the holes on the bottom and the ground. As far as the media goes .... what exactly did you use? Straight potting soil? MiracleGro mix?......
