That depends on the type of marble... I can spend $10 for a piece of Carrera marble with a bevel on each top end from the local Home Cheapo, $25 for Carrera with much nicer looking bullnose sides from my granite guy. I've spent well over $100 for a pure white Thassos marble saddle for a 5' long shower curb. Exactly. It cost me even more than that once for blue pearl. (175.00) If I can use a standard carrara threshold, I won't even charge for it, because what I lose in the material cost, I make up for in time savings. Anything more than that, though, whatever it costs me gets passed on to the customer, as it should be.

The Sequelo is more rustic. I finalized and ordered my tile today. I switched the floor planks to Seta in Silver because it's a much lighter look. It is in 6x24, but the store had a floor display laid out in herringbone and it looked great. http://www.besttile.com/Tile-Collection.aspx?pid=384&cid=19 I also switched back to shower walls of honed marble, but the shower floor in a ceramic tile in a grey to coordinate. I was more concerned over having a marble floor than marble shower walls, since there are only two walls (other walls are glass). It will be sealed before and after grouting. I'm using the Seta 12x24" plank for the 4' shower bench seat. Since I couldn't order a few tiles (had to order a box), I'm also using the Seta Silver in the laundry room. Everything's ordered. Sheetrock went up today and the hardwood floor material was just delivered to let it acclimate before install.

We're just in the process of planning a main bathroom gut and reno. We decided solid surface in the tub/shower and on the wall behind the toilet and backsplash at the sink would be our preference. We found a gorgeous piece of granite for the vanity so then wanted something to go well with it and the cabinets. Our choice was a pattern in Caesarstone quartz. You can get 1 cm, 2 cm or 3 cm, so for our purpose 1 cm would be ideal. However we will need deep pockets if we go this route. Our first quote for the Caesarstone alone (close to 2 slabs required) is between $6,000 and $7,000 installed, hopefully closer to the lower end of that. My heart fell as we had everything co-ordinated. We are getting a 2nd quote on Caesarstone and some Cambria which is less expensive if we can find a colour we like. The Caesarstone comes from Israel so it is more expensive because of the shipping costs. If we were hiring a tile setter to do tile (if we chose that route) I'm not sure what we would pay, but it would be a few thousand dollars for sure. But we would do it ourselves, as we have tiled a lot in our home. So our labour is free. It makes it a lot harder to justify spending so much on the solid surface we chose. Still trying to see what we can do for a better price. We are going to see Flo Form this week thru the Costco program. saves a few dollars. The quartz can be cut for openings to have niches on the shower walls and of course for the holes required to fit shower controls, faucets etc. It would be templated, just like a countertop is.

The internet is your friend. Go to the websites of the designer tile manufacturer like Artistic, Motawi, Ann Sacks, Encore, Fireclay as they all have galleys. Google bathrooms and save what you like onto your computer. When I was remodeling, I saved scads of inspiration photos and then my designer used them to design my bathrooms. This was the inspiration although my bathroom doesn't resemble this as it's smaller and although my tiles were fairly pricey they weren't the $100,000 or so I imagine these tiles cost :-) I am not suggesting this should be your inspiration but only suggesting a process where you can get inspired and then use that inspiration - this is from Motawi website
