Were you able to fix your hole in the shade....my cats did the same thing...brought in a bird.....I checked with Home Depot where I got them and they said I would have to get a new one.... Problem is there are 3 separate Windows , a large casement and 2 smaller ones on each side of the large window and if Order a new one the lot color may be different.... Not sure what to do

We moved 6 months ago and I'm also debating my window treatments on a daily basis! Woods, cellulars,or sihouettes?? I need to make a decision, and live with it, right or wrong!!! We have similar windows, I have 4, 118" wide windows. Tonight I pulled out my silhouette samples,I am able to order one 120" shade which is a plus!! Yes they are expensive, and won't do a good job on blocking light, they will only filter light similar to a cellular shade.The sheer view is nice, but the clearer view between wood slats suits me better. I worry that silhouettes are too formal for my rustic home. I wonder if others feel that way??? Your window size can probably accomodate one large IM wood blind, which I prefer. My larger windows require 2-3 blinds per window. Lots of people on the forum suggest white faux. I prefer woods,they are lighter, and for only a few dollars more I want the real thing. Perhaps the "no holes option "on the wood blinds may interest you. Also check out the Graber shutter style wood blind,a new concept, it is supposed to close tighter and block more light, I'm considering these. This 2 1/2" shutter wood blind is double the cost of woods, which are available in 2", 2 3/8" or 2 1/2" depending upon which company you use. I want shutters, but mine would have to be OM, and I only like shutters with an IM. I think you'd be happy with a white two inch wood blind. You could hang grommet black out panels, though the tv would need to be pulled a bit forward, and slide them shut when needed. You could order black out cellular shades and they would block out all the light. Is there really that much glare on the tv?? My TV is situated exactly like yours, and I don't have any glare problems with my LCD TV. Keep us posted on your decision.

Working w/window tx. consultant, and thinking of bamboo shades for our new famioy room. I'm looking on Hunter Douglas website, and seeing the Alouette and Trio blinds which look great in their pictures, of course. We have Silhouettes and love them, but they're pricey, and wondering if anyone knows anything about Alouette/Trio versus Silhouettes? We're looking at the Provenance woven wood shades, but have beautiful new Pella Architect Series windows, and so something sheer would also look very good on them. Feedback appreciated.

It reminded me of trying to get one of your kids to let go of their security blankie or Pooh. I remember how much fun Hannah and I had doing her room and I guess I do need to think about letting it go ;-) Mtnrredux -- love Company Store. Looked for the denim duvet cover and only found the bed skirt. Do you think the duvet cover is discontinued? I love that look. I thought trundles always came with beds, I didn't realize you could purchase them separately till you pointed it out. I don't know if one would fit under our beds. Love the encapsulated mattress idea too. Geokid--had never really looked into bamboo shades, because our old lake has has them in the kitchen and they don't darken. They came with the house. I just looked at them again online and was pleasantly surprised at the selections, colors, and that you can get them with an optional liner to darken the room. Thanks for the suggestion. Busy bee-- when my dds were in high school and even older, we had girls all over our basement. Sprawled everywhere. Wouldn't have had it any other way :-) the night before oldest dd's wedding 2 yrs ago, I had 8 bridesmaids "sleep over" . They don't mind sharing, but you are right boys will not as time goes on. Anitamo and Ellen-- love the sleeper chair, but couldn't find a picture of it opened up. Had no idea there was any such thing. 2 would fit nicely in their room. Sherman--I loved your story. At least they say they don't. Which is surprising because they are so different. One is sweet and sensitive, the other is all boy. I should just make the room neutral...and let it evolve! Oakleyoak--thanks. Your sleepover sounds fun. The white blinds are definitely going. That was one spendy thing I got for this house that I'm gradually replacing throughout. Bugs die inside them, no good way to clean them, etc. About the boys.... They are definitely different animals than my girls were. Thanks all. Woke up with a little anxiety about not having my "babies" across the hall from me after 10 yrs . Guess I need to get over it and get to work. Stay tuned for pictures after move!
