Trig, calc, statistics... ugh. How could I make it adjustable with a single wire? Mirrors are 30" tall by 18.5" wide. They will hang side-by-side as a faux headboard over my queen bed. It's a very small room and can't relinquish even a single precious inch to a headboard. I have a pillow arrangement against the wall, and these two mirrors will hang above them, canted forward a bit. I think (hope) the canting will distract from the obvious 'mirrors over a bed' connotation - LOL - and do have to make sure they're not hung so as to be reflective of what's so not happening in my humble little single-mom boudoir. Heh heh. Jacy I saw this exact arrangement somewhere and thought it absolutely perfect for my room. Now that I'm ready to roll of course I can't find the photograph anywhere. Can't even remember if it's on my HDD somewhere as an image, bookmark or floating around the house. Arrggh.

I have thoroughly enjoyed browsing all the photos and reading the stories of your collections here. Such beautiful pieces and wonderful, touching stories. To see most of mine, you'd think my home was full of antiques, which is far from the real deal, but these seem to be most of my most interesting non-art things. However, some of you have given me some ideas for things I could do in the future with things I have stored! This is a small collection of silver vases, albeit in need of some polish right now. My collection of miniature tea sets. This started with my aunt giving me her much-used Mickey Mouse set she had used back in the 30's as a child and a then-new set when I was about 8-years old (the blue and white delft set). The rest is a mix of old and new I picked up along the way as an adult. I also have a lot of old hankies that belonged to my grandmother and great-grandmother, and yes I use them at weddings and funerals. They made some of them, including the tatting on the edges. Gallery hallway of family photos (old and new) To honor our home states (Alabama and Ohio) I started looking for old maps of our states and regions. This is one of Alabama and of the Eastern US in our breakfast room. The next one is an Agricultural map of Ohio. I think I've posted enough. Thanks for viewing. BTW, those clocks are awesome! Here are a few photos from the latest rearranging. The only drawback I see so far is that the path from the doorway into the room is narrowed by having the sofa and coffee table pulled over to be centered at the window. The piano sits where it sits to allow access to the wall outlet but it can move to the left 10" to center it on that wall, which might help it feel less cramped near the doorway. Also, the harp player wood cuts could go over the piano but that's a lot of brown wood above brown piano on brown floor. The piano is 38" high and the wood cuts are 28" high. If I was shooting for 5' to the center of the artwork I would have 8" from the piano to the bottom of the frame, if I'm thinking correctly. Could those pieces be hung on the wall where now you see a wooden arm chair with the white cushion, or is that a no-no? The entryway is from our foyer and we would love for people to get a peek at them when they come into our house.

I don't quite understand the desire to hide a TV. I like really big screens. It's like going to the movies (which I now no longer do). But 100" screens take over a lot of the room. I really don't want to constantly stare at that screen when I only watch TV for an hour or two at night. So, I fully understand the desire to hide the TV and make the living room look like a living space the rest of the time. Is it a make-or-break feature to hide the TV? No, absolutely not. It's very much a "first world problem". It's really nice to be able to tuck it away and hiding the TV can open up a lot of interior design options. But in the end, that money could also be spent on something else. There is no right or wrong answer on whether it is worth it.
