Now you got me started. I was going to comment that the molding and the floors look wonderful and should stay the colors they are. In many older houses with stained ww, the floor is lighter, giving some interest to the room. Then you got me started on base shoe, my FAVORITE topic. IMHO, you must put the base shoe up. It's the finishing touch on fine woodwork. I've always wondered why it is called base shoe and finally determined that it's like putting on your best clothing and then going barefoot. It just looks unfinished. My former house had all natural molding, what I wouldn't give to have it now. I love my house, but the white moldings can go...and the upkeep. My guess is if you're using the original baseshoe and it's held up all these years, it'll will hold up for many more. New stuff, unless you buy oak, not so much. Have fun. The house is beautiful.

Good advice in the 2 posts above. The Integrity is a solid choice, and any Marvin product is as good as you'll find with a real wood interior. Wood is what it is, so there will always be the question of WHEN, not IF it will ultimately degrade, but with proper maintenance the two Marvin options should have a good lifespan. As WoW alluded to earlier, the Sunrise (or any premium vinyl) will generally offer superior performance (better u-values and air leakage), a lower price, better warranty, and less maintenance, but the appearance factor is more important for some, and wood can't be beat in that area. Regarding the installation company, you would vet them just as you would another window company, look at things like review sites, history, do they have a physical location, references, view their work, BBB, trade affiliations, etc, etc.

Thank you all of you for your recommendations. We are building our home in New Albany OH (east of Columbus). The price comparison between wood vs vinyl is roughly $31k vs $16k. Cost is a moderate factor so Vinyl or non wood windows is definitely an option. Since the interior is going to be painted solid color (off white), I think vinyl or PVC should be ok. When it comes to vinyl, some dealers said that they cannot mull some of the large windows vertically, and I have to make changes to the window sizes and layout in the plan. Out of Anderson/Silverline, Windsor and Quaker (all vinyl windows), only Quaker can actually match our design requirements. Just for clarity, here are the window schedule. From a color perspective, I'd suggest the white. Its timeless and has a broader appeal. If you love the wood look then by all means, it your house so go for it. If you are truly on the fence though, go for white for the reasons above. On the window material, there is nothing wrong with any given material. There are good and bad options in each, and vinyl does generally offer superior energy efficiency as long as you choose a good product. If this is a million dollar home with ornate woodwork throughout you may give more weight to the "richness" that is only possible with a real wood window, otherwise the performance, cost, maintenance, warranty, etc of a good vinyl window is pretty compelling.
