Help with bedroom decorating!
Comments (5)les917, the accent wall leads to a stairway up to the living room/foyer. Open loft floor plans are neat but also have their challenges - there are no interior doors other than on the bathrooms! So we have the bed there to provide a feeling of privacy, even though we don't normally have guests overnight. Also I was trying to create a sitting/reading area by the window and a sleeping area in the other half of the room. It's so big is does not seem crowded to me, but maybe because in our previous home the bedroom 12'x12' and we could barely walk around the bed! Also the window overlooks the street (park with trees is across the street) so again it felt wierd having the bed too close to that window. I added a link to a PDF of the floor plan (lower level is the master bedroom) in case that helps. Here is a link that might be useful: Floor Plan...See MoreNeed help with bedroom decorating
Comments (16)It's an exceptionally unique bedroom. Since there's so much wood and the carpet seems to be brown as well, I'd go with a nice light color for your bedding. Light blue does go beautifully with brown. I have always found that getting my bedding first was the way to go. Then I pull a color or two from there for window treatments, art, pillows, wall color, etc. You need to lighten it up. You said your husband wants to stay away from yellow, but I just saw a beautiful bedding set that has light blue and yellow on a white background from which you could pull out the blues and it would be light and cheerful....See MoreNeed help with Bedroom decor/furniture and colours scheme.

Comments (1)Get an overall plan before you go any further (for a unified look). Do you have an inspiration piece (fabric, accessory, or clothing)? What colors do you like? Discover your style. In top search box, put in different styles (one at a time). Examples are Glam, eclectic, transitional. Note what you like and don't like. An option for over the other dresser is a piece of wall art. Get from a local artist, art gallery, or art.com. Get a print and have it framed locally. We look forward to helping you when you have more info!...See Moretartanmeup
