Schnapps and Schnaps are pronounced the same, and so you cannot be aware of the difference except by context or spelling. I majored in German at university, and so I'm familiar with the differences in spellings. I have a German to German dictionary, and in it, Schnaps also means brandy, but it primarily means strong alcohol or alcoholic drink (non-specific). In this dictionary, Schnapsidee means "verrückter Einfall." Einfall is another word for idea.

Bread aisle of the grocery store, which is why I never go down that aisle. I'm somewhat shocked that so many people go down every aisle in the grocery store. I certainly never go down the pet supply aisle, and I tend to shop the periphery of the grocery store, unless there is a specific aisle that I need to visit. I do tend to go down every (small) aisle in the Lebanese market, however, but that is a very small store and has a lot of unusual items that I might know that I need. I try not to go down every aisle in Trader Joe's for the same reason, but there are only four, and so it is difficult not to.
