Need your suggestions in decorating my living room
Comments (12)You can get one of the sisal-type rugs at Ikea to put under your existing rug to expand the space. This also helps if you like a rug but don't have the budget for a large size. I'd look at slip covers, purchased or made, for the furniture and a few decorative pillows. For furniture placement: A trick I learned from my mom: actually move the furniture around to see how different configurations really work - take everything out except the heavy furniture so do that first, then add the small stuff, plants, etc. Some nice decorative plant pots would also help the space. It looks like your furniture is placed a bit far away from the TV. You also could consider getting one of the expanding/rotating arms for the TV to give you more viewing/furniture placement options. It takes a little time to get the curated, layered looks that you see in pictures, but it can be done and takes less than you might think. Good luck!...See MoreNeed Help with Rearranging and Decorating my living room
Comments (6)I moved the sofa from the front wall. There was a fire place behind that sofa. Now it's in the middle of the room with 3 corners to fill up! Should I install small corner shelves on both side of the tv? And may be put plants? I don't like the all the electrical wire cords but can't find any other solution except for hiding under the white strips....See MorePlease help me furnish and decorate my living room!!
Comments (25)Hello italmover, I knew those pics would put everything in perspective! I stood on my kitchen bar to take them...yikes! I agree what you said about the two different chairs..it will looks more interesting. And that rug is great! That’s exactly what I was considering....maybe abit more navy blue? My dh says no to keeping the brown ottoman, but we shall see...methinks he is tired of brown...lol. I can see how it may tie in very nicely. The cabinetry will stay as it is built ins with the fireplace. I believe some side tables will put everything together nicely. Thank you so much for your input....you have no idea how much this is appreciated. I appreciate each and every idea...it helps me to look at my space through different eyes. 🤓...See MoreHelp me decorate my living room - tv stand? credenza? what else?
Comments (7)A wider TV console will fill the wall space better. It is usually recommended the console be at least 25% wider than the TV. I don't like a lot on a TV wall so once you have a new console re-evaluate. Maybe move the plant to the other side. Then maybe some decor on the console rather than the wall. Turn the ottoman 90 degrees and pull the chairs so all 4 legs are on the rug. You have a nice, serene room these are from west elm...See MoreIrina
