Cl Cecile Brunner on arbor
Comments (5)Oh my goodness gardengirl. The Cecile Brunner on the arbor is just too beautiful for words, soooooooo beautiful! Your DH did an excellent job on the arbor. Don't you just love the autumn clematis too? I've decided to grow it everywhere, fortunately it seeds itself everywhere too. Keep up the wonderful work in your garden and share more. Thanks Yardrat...See MoreIs this Cl. Cecille Brunner?
Comments (10)There is a climbing form of Little White Pet/White Pet. It's not currently available in this country, but perhaps someone here used to sell it at the time your rose was planted. Unfortunately, I haven't found a picture to be able to compare the leaves of White Pet, Climbing with yours. The leaves of Little White Pet, proper, do look darker then yours, so it's probably not that one. But the regular form of Little White Pet does happen to often have the little fuzzy kind of pompon blooms like the one you were holding. And sometimes not--sometimes just a very pretty small fully double white bloom. Best wishes, Mary...See MoreComplicata and Cl. Cecile Brunner - Spacing?
Comments (3)Complicata, being a gallica, may be prone to suckering and therefore can increase in size considerably. Cecile on the other hand, in my experience at least, doesn't take up that much room on the bottom if you give it some place to go. Complicata, of course, won't bloom for a very extended period. My inclination would be to choose a repeat-blooming rose but of course this is your choice entirely. If you've managed to get one of the reliably repeat blooming climbing Ceciles (the one I have presently basically only blooms in the spring), that should make quite an impact. I hope someone who has grown Complicata can give you a more knowledgeable answer. Ingrid...See MoreReplacement for Cl Cecille Brunner
Comments (7)I would put Golden Celebration there to fill the space. It will fill it easily in 3-4 years, but will not eat your house like Cl. Cecile Brunner will. As for Ms. Brunner, wherever you decide to put her I would highly suggest that the structure is strong, and cemented 4 feet deep into the ground. Once she matures enough I have her of her taking out structures due to her immense weight and size. Josh...See MoreElen Gunawan
