does this look like early blight
Comments (18)I told myself I was going to go 100% organic this year....until this crud started showing up. It just seemed to come out of nowhere like you said and started spreading pretty rapidly. I finally broke down and sprayed them with Ortho Garden Disease Control several days ago which put a halt to the spread. With rain on the way, I'm sure I'll be spraying again soon. My tomatoes look so good this year with what should be very good yields - I just couldn't sit by and watch them deteriorate. I'm growing Anna Russian, Better Boy, Brandywine, Brandywine (Sudduth Strain), Cherokee Purple, Gardener's Delight, Marianna's Peace, Opalka, Sioux, and Stump of the World. All are affected with Stump of the World getting it the worst, but the spray has helped tremendously, and everything is growing without any apparent adverse impact....See MoreDoes this Look Like Early Blight?
Comments (3)Dave, I googled this disease and you're right. It looks exactly like that. Going to get some fungicide today. Thanks!...See Moredoes this look like blight?
Comments (4)Personally, based on the pattern, that just doesn't look like blight at all to me, or a fungus for that matter, at least compared to what I've had on my plants in the past. Though it DOES almost look like there are a few early blight splotches on the lower right leaves of the plant, barely visible. It could be the lighting, but the plant does look a little pale to me, especially around the lower leaves. I'm just curious, where are you located and what has the weather been like recently? I could be completely off track, but it almost seems like "environmental" damage that I've seen in the past, potentially from cooler weather. Why do I assume this? Well, look at those beans in the background, and the other plants. They're ALL pale, and normally beans don't get a nitrogen deficiency... The soil for those beans also looks a bit dry. How are you watering these plants? And lastly, what are all the white specks on some of the lower leaves? Whiteflies?...See MoreNew growth or boxwood blight?
Comments (4)Not blight......just anemic-looking new growth. It should darken up as it matures. btw, 'Winter Gem' is one of the most blight resistant cultivars of box available, so unlikely (not impossible) for blight to be a concern....See Morea1an
