I rarely turn our TV(s) on and don't like to see them when not in use. Great room television is hidden behind custom sliding panels ( two go left, one right). DVD player, TV equipment, etc is in niche with shutter door. MBR TV is in an antique armoire that was in LR of our last home. It also holds sweaters and extra bedding. Main level guest room. Lower level guest room. We do have a large flat screen that is not enclosed in the lower level den. I don't have a photograph to share but it's on a pine chest. I really like it, especially with your very 'airy' plant. All 3 objects give one the feeling of 'floating'. Like magic! It makes the oversized electronic, look like it's in a home setting. Very nicely done. Couldn't be any nicer. Now, look for all those with the giant 'entertainment with a bridge' armoires or wall shelving be putting them up on resale websites, so they can lighten the load in their tv rooms... LOL

Not a Pro. The heat register doesn't bother me as much as the wires lol I would find a tv that has a hole you can snake wires through to hide them behind the console or drill a hole for same.

You may not "need" a cabinet that was made to be sold as a tv stand. A floating shelf or a box shelf or a sofa table or a credenza or a bookcase or dresser or the orphaned top of a hutch from a china cabinet or, if you want quirky, even a fireplace surround and mantel (even without the fireplace) could work just as well for the purpose of having as a place to set tv/media related items beneath the tv; however, as you make your decision, do consider what wires you want/need to hide. If you appreciate symmetry, you will want whatever you do finally choose to be at least as wide as the tv. so if you're considering either 67" or 70" tv, if you choose an item that is at least 70" wide, you will not be disappointed with the width. If you prefer to hang your tv on the wall above a shelf, but you don't want the wires to show, you could use hollow porch post pieces to cover the cable and electrical wire creating a pair of faux "legs" for your shelf.
