Please help me decide between this dishwashers
Comments (8)I have a KA, not sure of the model number off the top of my head, but I am extremely happy with it. It is their basic model with only a heavy and normal cycle. I can also choose extra heat in the wash cycle, and whether to heat dry or not. It has a stainless interior, and also comes with stainless exterior if you want. I got basic white because I am not enchanted with stainless appliances. I was tired of the unreliability of many dishwashers that have all the bells and whistles, and found I only used a couple of the cycles anyway. This has been the best one I've used, and was right around the price range you mentioned. My dishes come out totally clean. I don't find it to be particularly noisy. It sounds like a dishwasher. Comments (13)OT, but We have had a PGM365 at the lake house about a year now. Likes: 1) Looks good. Nice stainless finish, cool blue LED's on control knobs, reasonably hefty feel to grid. 2) Cooks well. It's not a BlueStar, but the one 15K burner is hot enough to sear stuff reasonably well. The 11K burner is also good for most day to day cooking. The other burners are fine for more mundane tasks 3) the two dual ring simmer burners are quite good, can go very low. Nice for polenta, grits etc. 4) the "shot peened" stainless finish (around the burners only, the finish around the control knobs is a more conventional stainless finish) is nice in not showing fingerprints and dirt as much (but see below) Dislikes (none are major) 1) Wish the 15K burner were front and center, rather than front and left. Hood ventilation would be better if it were centered under the hood. As it is, with a 600 cfm VAH hood running on full I get just a touch of smoke spillover when really cooking hard 2) the shotpeened finish is certainly not stain proof, and may even be harder to clean with some stains. Early on we neglected to wipe up some spattered oil before going on to use the adjacent burner. It baked the oil onto the surface and nothing we tried including abrasive cleansers (wince) worked. Finally on the advice of Dacor we used oven cleaner and it came right up, with no residual damage. So--looks nice but no panacea Can't comment on reliability after only a year but no probs to date and Dacor was reasonably responsive with our one inquiry. Price I thought was pretty good. Hope this helps....See MorePlease help me decide between these 2 sinks for a small bathroom
Comments (4)Thanks! mcps - I hadn't even thought about whether someone would bump their head on the faucet! Something to consider... bluekitobsessed - unfortunately have already ordered the vanity. I can amend the dimensions of the vanity but not cancel it without losing deposit. Sink I originally ordered Lacava 5102 came with 3 faucet holes when I wanted one so am returning it. However, also found that I didn't like the way it looked (although at 17x15) it is a 'perfect' size for this bathroom. Dealer is okay with me choosing a replacement so am considering these 2. I like them both although my preference is for the "farmhouse theme" (didn't know there was a theme!) and so I like #1 but not crazy about the size - if it was larger I would snap it up. Buut haven't ruled it out yet. #2 looks nice (I saw similar sinks at a showroom) but not sure how functional it will be, if that makes any sense. Also, someone described it as "morgue-like" and although I'm not sure what that means, it's given me pause! Aaargh! Thanks, Amina...See MorePlease help me decide between these two pulls...
Comments (33)Could I trouble those of you with these lovely Revitalize pulls for pictures from a little further back, in context with surrounding cabinets? One of my issues is sizing; most of my drawers are 30 - 36" wide so I have to consider paying up for long ones or putting pairs on each drawer. I was sure I wanted Candler but the linked picture of them installed, and the feel in my hand, has caused me to re-evaluate. They seem "thick" looking, and when I used them at the model they were also less comfortable than Revitalize. When I opened drawers with Revitalize, my hand naturally fell so that my thumb was on the angled part - do you use them that way IRL? Here is a link that might be useful: not a fan of this look!...See Morearcy_gw
