The KA will have more interior room. The KA has a food disposer - some people want this and some people don't. The disposer increases the noise level, but people who like them feel it is worth it not to have debris to clean out from the bottom of the DW. That's your call.

You should compare the specs (available online) of both machines, and see which features differ, to help you decide.

Not sure about KA, but we replaced the GE that came with our home with a Bosch because of what we'd heard about quietness. We were not disappointed in that regard. However, at least in the model we bought which was not high-end, it's accomplished by increasing wall width for additional insulation, and thus, you get less interior room for dishes, as akchitown said. We were also surprised that there was no electric dish dryer, and instead, a stainless steel interior that heats up during the wash cycle and releases its heat after wash to dry the dishes. We were skeptical of this, but it works rather well.

Hopefully you checked already as to which one holds your dishes better? I picked the KA over the bosch due to the fact that it held my dishes better and was more adjustable for pots and pans.

The bosch will be smaller inside. And probably quieter. It uses condensation drying.

The KA will be a bit bigger inside, perhaps a bit noisier and has heated drying.

I think the bosch has a top-drawer only wash cycle. The KA does not.

I have a KA, not sure of the model number off the top of my head, but I am extremely happy with it. It is their basic model with only a heavy and normal cycle. I can also choose extra heat in the wash cycle, and whether to heat dry or not. It has a stainless interior, and also comes with stainless exterior if you want. I got basic white because I am not enchanted with stainless appliances.

I was tired of the unreliability of many dishwashers that have all the bells and whistles, and found I only used a couple of the cycles anyway. This has been the best one I've used, and was right around the price range you mentioned. My dishes come out totally clean.

I don't find it to be particularly noisy. It sounds like a dishwasher.

I just purchased a KA DW and am very disappointed in the drying cycle. I bought it 3 days ago and had the repairman come out already. He said I need to either turn up the hot water heater temp. or turn on the sink faucet to hot before starting the DW. It has a delay cycle on it and I don't want to have to worry about turning on the faucet first before running the DW. I paid over $1,000 for this appliance and disapointed.

prince50, which model did you buy? Are you using the heated dry cycle? I do NOT use the heated dry cycle on my KUDE60. I've just never used heat for energy savings and to not add heat to the kitchen. I open the dw door, slightly, when it's done. This helps tremendously and using Jet Dry also helps.

Have been lurking for some time, and can't find reviews for the dacor ER36G NG or much about the Bluestar RNB 366. I know the difference in open and closed and that the bluestar has higher BTU on burners, but I am really interested in broiler experience and reliability. Would love rangetop with separate oven but design doesn't alllow for wall and ther aren't any under the counter gas ovens that I have found
