Bronze variations???
Comments (0)I know various manufacturers have different shades of bronze, but now I'm finding out that there are many different bronzes, and even the same names seem to be applied to very different finishes depending on the company! I've seen oil rubbed bronze, venetian bronze, tuscan bronze, bronze florentine, and maybe one other that I can't recall at the moment. Is there any rule to what the overall tones are? Some appear reddish, some brown, some very black, some iron-gray, etc. How much can they be mixed in a kitchen (knobs, faucets, lighting, etc.) and still appear cohesive? Thanks, Sarah...See MoreRohl kitchen faucet? California Faucets kitchen faucet instead?
Comments (60)I ended up here, because I'm redoing my kitchen and trying to make a decision about the faucet. I have various faucets throughout my house from Kohler, Moen, Restoration Hardware, and Newport Brass. I think the Restoration Hardware fixtures are made by Newport Brass, because we had to call them when we needed to replace. We've had them from 10-12 years, so I don't know the styles or even if they are made. Almost all are polished nickel, and the Kohler and Moen are always spotless, laundry room and bathroom, respectively. I'm not crazy about the pull down sprayer on the Kohler. The Moen Showcase (do they still make this line?) is in the bathroom, and I love it so much, because I can just pour water over it and it will dry spotless. It's amazing. It is wall mount, and I wish I had it in every bathroom. Because of my success with Moen, when I needed a faucet for my kitchen, I bought an inexpensive (relative to all the other faucets I have) Moen at Home Depot. It is the only non polished nickel faucet I have. It is stainless steel, still looks brand new (10 years+), and the pull down sprayer works wonderfully. Unfortunately, I'd never buy fixtures from Restoration Hardware again. They spot like crazy. The Newport Brass are slightly better, but they also spot. I'm looking at Kohler and Moen for my new kitchen, but the choices are limited in polished nickel. Now I'll look at California Faucets, too, but I'll skip Rohl, since someone mentioned the polished nickel spots so much....See MoreBrushed Nichol faucet & knobs/pulls for white kitchen? or suggestions?
Comments (1)Your palette is well balanced but neutral. this means you can go with anything you want. In farmhouses, black pulls are trending. More modern homes are going back to a matte gold or champagne bronze. These also don't have to match the appliance but should not clash. For instance, I have a satin nickel faucet and a stainless steel sink and my appliance are stainless steel. But the pulls are champagne bronze. But these two metals run through every room in my home and there's not another "metal" in the area. If you go with the black stainless which is out, then I'd stick to a satin nickel (chrome shows everything and that's the last thing you want in a kitchen or black....See Morechrome sink faucet with brushed nickel cabinet knobs? no no?
Comments (6)Thank you, It’s really been bugging me. I haven’t seen any pictures with chrome faucet with brushed nickel pulls & knobs on the kitchen cabinets. I picked a chrome faucet with brushed nickel pulls & knobs on the cabinets & I’m second guessing myself, should I make them all the same? All chrome or all brushed nickel?...See MoreAndrea Mason
