Comments (22)Ded and Maire-- I recognized that toy immediately. Funny thing is, there were numerous things like that that just never got tossed, and my grands are now playing with them. They are in perfect condition because they were really quality stuff. There was a brand that did house parties back then, discovery toys... and we have quite a few of those indestructible toys that still look brand new. Comments (17)Lars, it's neither. It's the Manhattan Bridge, I believe. It was misidentified in the picture's info. ETA: Not sure what's going on. The original file is named "Manhattan Bridge" on my pc. When I click "i" on the pic on my Ipad, it shows the name as Washington Bridge. Strange. 7 years agoOn a wonderful week long adventure with Nita Foster, I got to visit a number of members of The Meeting House. We had a lovely stop in Pennsylvania where I met Lynn Dudish and her wonderful menagerie of animals and also the great pleasure to meet Margaret or Gazania as she was known then, now lgmd. The first picture is of a couple of Lynn's cats and the second is of Nita, herself. She was a wonderful lady and I miss her.

7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoMy friend Eva (on the left) and her sister Thea (on the right), who are from Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, where I will be going next month for the first time. Eva's son is in the photo also, as well as her husband.
When Eva worked with me, we always had lunch together. She was doing textile design while I was doing furniture design for the same company. Now she and her husband and children live in Oregon.

Leaman Place bridge, Lancaster Co., PA
I drove through this bridge and stopped for a photo when I heard a familiar clip-clop sound at a trotting pace of an approaching Amish buggy. Knowing that Amish adults do not like to have their faces photographed, I waited for the buggy to pass and enter the bridge for my photo. The buggy with covered bridge was the photo I wanted anyway. As a bonus, two children in back were peering at me.
