Hard to tell how much space is there at the end of your room (where the TV is) But I think you need some element of height in the room. If window treatments aren't in your budget (although some nice panels would look great on either side of the large window -- strictly decorative) then maybe consider moving the end table to the opposite side of the couch and purchase a taller lamp. I think grey would be great for the couches, and I really like what you've picked out. I like the idea of placement. For an ottoman, what about a circular one that pulls apart? Something like the attached. Then you can still have a coffee table without all the extra stuff around too. I love the idea of painting the fireplace. I would remove the mirror though. What does it reflect? The ceiling fan. It doesn't make the room look any bigger. What you need here is more colour- so far I see brown, beige and black. Get a piece of art with some nice greens or blues in it, then coordinate cushions on the couches to pick up some of those colours. And pick one other item to highlight that color too- The Rule of 3 applies to accent colors- see it 3 times in a room. The mantle looks crowded also. I would keep it to one large nice art piece, should be the same size as the fire place insert. Maybe candles on the end or a small plant to complement, but don't make it too busy. You may want to consider taking out one of the shelves on the shelving unit to the left of the fireplace (if removable) and placing those bigger, sculptural looking pieces (that are currently on your mantle) over there. The shelving unit is full of many small objects- I think you should have a few oversized things on it and get rid of some smaller stuff that look like clutter. Have a look at Pinterest and some inspiration on bookshelves. Chair- I would pick something that has a pattern to it, not just a solid. Doesn't have to be a full blown pattern, could just be an interesting texture on the fabric. A couple suggestions attached. Neutral color, accent pillow. As for your counter tops- I think it's the UV light through the windows that makes it look slightly greenish. Wouldn't worry about it. And heck, if you play up on colour with some greens in the living room, you might even come to love it!

We have a similar layout with the fireplace in the corner. And the tv on that wall. In our case we really needed a BIG tv to watch while working in the kitchen or from the breakfast nook. Make sure you get the biggest tv right off the bat to choose the right size console. I'm looking at floating and free standing, but the larger floating ones come in three pieces with seams on the top that I do not like. For our space I'm looking at sectionals. I'm following to see what happens here. Here is a picture of our space.

I don't have the room layout drawn to scale, so here's a couple of pictures that may help. Looking into room from behind columns. Room is approximately 21' x 17' (window wall to columns) Tape indicates about where a 12 x 15 rug would land - about 2-1/2' from wall Opposite diagonal corner with tape showing where the 12x15 would end up. It's about 28" from column. While this room is slightly larger (and elegant!), and doesn't need the pathway for the Master BR, the relative positions of the furniture is my goal. Note the sofa table and chair behind the sofa, but not on the rug - I would like to have a table and chair and don't care if they're on the rug or not. My preference is to have all the furniture on the rug. Is that enough info to help determine an appropriate size? I can try to draw out a room layout with walls and dimensions, just ran out of day today.
