FANTASTIC display!

I planted 72. They're only about 3" tall their 1st year in. I'm hoping they come back....and....the deer don't find them!

I used to have the Rubrum (lilium speciosum - I looked it up!) a long time ago when they first became available in my area. These lilies have the petals that curve back. Lasted many years also until English Ivy squeezed them out and only one small liliy eked its way up.

I saw some online and may purchase a few.

Home Depot had them marked down.....about .35cents a bulb!

Those look just like mine. I originally got them from Costco, a big pot of them. I had them in a big pot in the flood house, now they are planted in bulb bed at this house and they bloomed beautifully after going through all the flood and being moved. They are so pretty.

Nicole, buy Liquid Fence to spray the lilies as soon as the buds appear. Deer love the buds and you will never enjoy a flower if you don 't spray them about every two weeks. The deer eat the plants in early Spring, plants will recover. The deer must come through and check the scapes for buds. When just the right size they eat every bud and leave the scape. Plants survive to feed them another year.

Beautiful! Some of my favorites! None of the ones I planted came up, though the other lilies I planted did. Luckily, my one and only neighbor has a bountiful pear tree that distracts the deer from my flowers. They are here twice a day. Every day. Chowing down.

I used to have so many of these plus my favorite, the huge white Casa Blanca. Alas, no more. Squirrels finally finished them off. I didn’t plant them deeply enough.

So beautiful. Do you not have the red Asian lily beetle or do they not eat these? It makes me so sad to see my lilies I’ve had for years, decimated by the beetles.

I am starting to see the JPs. They did decimate a lot of my evening primrose, which I never knew them to do. Maybe it's because I don't have any roses blooming right now and they need something eat.
