Growth rate of blackberries

I've decided to ditch the Chester and Triple Crown -- they're turning into monsters but very little fruit, probably due to harsh winter weather. Instead, I'm going to go with Prime Ark Freedom. This way I don't have to worry about winter cane damage, and I'll get fruit over a longer period with a primocane variety. Anyway, my question is -- how fast do cuttings grow? The size I received was a cell-pack, which is fine, I knew that going in. Just wondering if I should pot them up and grow on to a larger size before planting in their permanent home, or just put the cuttings out in the ground to begin with. If they grow fast, I'll dig out the others and get the PAF planted in the ground soon.
