A couple of clump shots on Thursday

It's a bit cooler here today. Yesterday it was sweltering, but we stopped by Sugar Creek Daylilies in Darlington, Indiana and walked around for awhile. Of course we came home with three new ones. (We are downsizing--ha ha!) Here are a couple of clump shots I took today. Now if I would only remember to get the dead flowers out of the picture.
Sarah Christine is a very large flower.
King of Camelot is a good grower. It is not my favorite color, however. I like my purple richer than this.
Crocodile Jaws is another flat large yellow. That's the way Bob likes them.
Holy Sombrero is another of the flat large type. Its color is more intense than the picture shows.
I am not sure about Fireberry. This was Bob's pick.
This is the first year for Hell on Heals to bloom. It is a vigorous plant.
Lydia's Royal Robe is more to my liking as a purple.
I think this picture makes Megillah prettier than it is.

I love clump shots because I really feel that daylilies look their prettiest when blooming all together.....even plain-looking daylilies have a special 'glow' about them when viewed as a clump blooming away in the garden. It's easy to love pretty faces but the figure is important too....LOL. You have some very pretty ones here. I like that clump shot of the yellow NOID. (I have a couple yellow NOIDs myself and mine are fragrant too so I wonder if yellows tend to be more fragrant?). I like the form of your yellow too. Then of course Chance Encounter is always so photogenic and just the loveliest shade of pink so who could resist that one? And lucky you to have that Carpenter seedling 'Ruby'! That is so eye-catching and quite frankly I'm jealous because it's not something I can ever order...boohoo. The others are lovely and so enjoyable to see. Comments (9)I'm sorry to hear you are laid low with an infection. Need to watch out for infections because of the knee surgery. Comments (10)Wow, Autumn Min is impressive. Sometimes pictures just don't tell the story when all you see is a bloom. I know now I should have been looking at height, etc, but I have several daylilies that refuse to bloom the height or season supposed to. I love the look of Laura Harwood, but have not added that one because I had heard complaints of few buds, and canoeing. I got Cradle of Bethlehem because I thought it looks similar. Beautiful bloom, but will take another season or so to see how it does...See More
