Comments (7)You can do with a digital copy what you can do with one physical copy, like a book or a record. You can sell it. You can give it away. For digital copies, you can make a backup for your own use. You can give someone else the same digital copy you have (like a book), in which case they have it and you don't. Duplication is a right under copyright law than the purchaser of one copy doesn't have. If you (as an individual) make a copy (physical or electronic) of what you have and give it to someone else, that's a copyright law violation. The FBI action you're describing sounds like part of their work concerning counterfeit goods - fake Gucci goods, Rolex watches, Izod clothes, as well as physical bootleg copies. The media/internet thing is something quite different, more akin to the shutdown of Pirate Bay and the tracking of bit torrent activity. It's an agreement for copyright holders that ISPs try self enforcement to deter violators, as a way to avoid lawsuits. If the effort doesn't curtail impermissible use, more aggressive means will be used BY THE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS, not by law enforcement....See MoreDiana Gabaldon fans $1.99 An Outlander Novella
Comments (3)Thanks for the heads up but I've read this one. I love her books and can't wait for "In My Heart's Own Blood" to be released. I don't usually re-read a book but I could easily do that with this series. Diana Gabaldon is the the best author....See MoreOutlander on Starz. You watching?
Comments (24)My sister and her daughters, and a couple of my nieces absolutely raved about these books. Sis is reading number 8 right now. I was visiting her these past couple days and they purchased Starz for 10 months just to watch this series. I will say, both she and her daughter weren't crazy about the woman playing Clair, or with Jamie. They said the same as some others, hair is not red, and he doesn't tower over her. I hope I can track down the books among friends and family and read them....See MoreHave you ever read about a place and then wanted to go visit?
Comments (32)We had German and Austrian friends who said that Hillerman’s novels, and others set in the SW, are very popular so German-speakers really like to visit. Lars, I like your recollection that OKC could seem so exotic. Of course, I also read the Little House books, and rather than visit a place, I wanted to visit that time. Still do. To soar over the virgin prairie, or journey through it, to watch life in the Big Woods, to peer in the windows of The Long Winter. Another is Pillars of the Earth. I want to time-travel as an observer of medieval Europe....See Morebpath
