Anyone recognize this pottery tile?
Comments (3)I have seen tables made just like that for a decorative tile....without a marking, it would ba hard to say who made it.....there were a lot of tiles made by a lot of people for a lot of years....and many had paper labels. Google "vintage art tile" and see some of what's out there. It's very nice....likely worth a couple hundred....treat it well! Linda C...See MorePottery - anyone recognize this mark?
Comments (7)Sorry, that should have been Meissen. But thanks for sending me to eBay, I found more incl this one. My vase is 8.75" high, the mark I couldn't figure out I think is "slb". This one is from the same maker, obviously a big difference b/t number 21 and number 612, but look at the price! A couple of smaller ones listed too, but I'm not sure sellers know what they have. I emailed all of them, will let you know what responses I get (if any). Last time I emailed ebay sellers looking for info on my great-great-grandpa's Victrola, eBay told me someone was using my email to spam people. Comments (96)"2: The pull issue is still in question. The holes in my cabinets are 3" apart - but if you look at my photo above, you can see the fading. (the pulls extend beyond where the holes are) I don't know if the painter can do anything without striping them. I like hardware like this — but even if there was not fading issue, these particular ones wouldn't work b/c they don't come in 3" whole spacing." This site allows you to use the search function by selecting your pull size (center to center) then you can select a pull you like and look at the length of the pull. Select a pull with 3" centers but a length long enough to cover the faded areas. As an example..I have used this pull and it is a beautiful pull. It has 3" centers but is 4 5/8" long. How long is your faded area? https://www.thehardwarehut.com/catalog-product.php?p_ref=269021#productOption2...See Morerecognize this mark?
Comments (29)Now, that you have cleaned it, its beauty shines through. Its an oval cut and apparently a good cut. If it is glass, its a nice piece of costume jewelry, but, somehow, I think its better than glass. Have a gemologist check it out. There is no sign of a 'cat eye in your straight-on shot making me think that its RI (reflective index) is greater than for glass. Although the ring band does not show much wear, there is evidence of wear on the stone. Look at the edges of the table (the lines where the facets meet) and you will see that few of these edges have tiny chips showing that it has been knocked about from normal wear. Use a magnifier to examine the cut. However, I do not see any scratches on the stone indicating that it likely is harder than glass, possible the hardness of quartz or greater. Do have it examined by an expert. After cleaning, it is a very nice wearable ring....See Morebeckysharp Reinstate SW Unconditionally
