A young crinum may not have an obvious large bulb yet. I really have no idea what it is. Guess you may have to wait until it blooms (if it does for you). I mean, this plant could have come from anywhere in the world? Where have you been traveling to? Asia? Europe? North Carolina? Kind of hard to narrow down! Taking a photo of the roots may help...or may not. Stiff leaves -- stiff compared to what? Apparently not stiff enough to keep some from falling down. Could you have collected a bulbil instead of seed? Crinums develop these on their flowerheads sometimes. You are sure it was a 'seed'? So it died down over winter and came back in your zone 7 location...which is where exactly?

It's a Bidens species. Most are very weedy and many have seeds that attach to clothing.
