Has anybody warned you about selecting colors from a computer screen?

If you want to do stone, it should only come to the beginning of the first floor and no higher. Right now it's cutting the house in half.

Get rid of the board and batten in the two gables and stick with clapboard siding. The board and batten is fighting for attention with the front door and the front door should be the only thing that competes for your attention.

Then find a dark blue that isn't quite so clean.

The Brockton stone would be a better choice with the blue and the garage doors.

@Mark. Absolutely! We’ve seen everything in person! We are just having a hard time putting all the pieces together in our mind despite having the samples in front of us.

What ^ cp said. Warmer Brockton stone is better with the wood and blue color. Clapboard and stone only. Very pretty front door. Best wishes!

@cpartist The Brockton was what our builder told us to go with but in person it looks more brown than grey that you see on the website.

The big chip is the door. The smaller circle is the garage. The bottom blue chip is the siding we love. The white we put there is just to show the trim.

@cpartist the Brockton is similar to this stone. We’re just worried about all the brown in it but now that I found this picture it makes more sense.

Are you sure that the dark brown doors and the dark blue siding work well together? The first photos with the beige siding is a much better overall harmony.

If your first and most important choice is the dark blue siding, I suggest you rethink the color of the doors to something more harmonious with blue hues.

On the other hand, if the doors are your top priority choice, I suggest you abandon the blue siding and choose something more harmonious with the door colors.

The stone selection can wait until you have the siding and door selections finalized.

@virgilCarterfineart The doors have already been ordered. Here is a photo of wood doors with blue siding. It looks great but Im not sure the stone we are choosing above is working. We are also worried that maybe it just too much stone that's planned on the elevation drawings.

Because the doors have been ordered the nest step after the doors being installed is stone and then siding according to our builder.

I just took the above photo I posted and photoshopped the roof black. I think our issue was 1. the stone needs to be a neutral danish colour (the brockton) and 2. It may just be too much stone that was planned for the house.

I hate to say it, but I like the lighter roof. The black looks too harsh.

I hate to say it, but a black roof is almost always harmonious with any exterior design.

Virgil I think the doors work with the blue because they have a reddish tint to them.

Joanna, Here is how you should do the stone and the siding. Notice now how your door becomes the focal point and now the stone doesn't cut the house in half?

Everyone else has already said it, but one thing that I want to point out is that in every one of the inspiration photos that you posted, the stone was comprised of warm tones, not the cold gray that you’d initially picked. So definitely go with the Brockton or whatever is warm.

Simplify like CP shows, do the warm stone all over the foundation (all the way around the house) and let that gorgeous door star!

I would leave the stone off entirely. Your big black roof will dominate the view and you want people to notice the lower part more. I additionally think the stone detracts from the entrance.
