Cross post from appliance forum Bosch 800 Series dishwasher ?
Comments (5)Run tang through it. Cleans everything out so there is nothing to create the smell and gives it a pleasant citrus smell for a bit. Seeing how clean it gets my dishwasher makes me never want to drink it, though! I usually sprinkle about 3/4 of the container into the bottom of the dishwasher and then also fill the detergent compartment....See MoreBosch 800 vs 800 plus
Comments (3)iMHO The Bosch DW water softener is definitely worth additional $300 it if you have hard water. There are some reports that rinse aid is hazardous to the environment. If you dislike using rinsed aid, you can rely more on your water softener to dry dishes faster and spot free. Just dial back the rinse aid to the lowest setting and the water softener should prevent hard water spots and etching. Soft water seems to dry a little better, too. Rinse aid is about $10 for 23 ounces and you can save a little rinse aid to offset the cost of the water softener over the life of the machine. You will need to buy special “dishwasher salt” for the softener though. I’ve recently learned that the 800 plus has been discontinued, though....See MoreHelp me with my appliance choices, please... Comments (16)I have the same Bosch as sjhockeyfan and love it for all the same reasons. I am still learning what "4" and "6" will do, exactly (for example), but I love that 4 today is the same as 4 yesterday, so when I start using it every day (don't live there yet) it will be even more wonderful. And I haven't even figured out the timers yet, need to get that manual out one of these days. Love cleaning it up, though. I have gas at home now and there's a lot of cussing whenever something goes down between those grates......See MoreBosch Benchmark vs Bosch 800 series ovens and DW?
Comments (5)Bosch are the worse appliances on the market today in my opinion. One year ago I bought all new bosch benchmark appliances for a new house. IN less than a year I have had 3 repair issues (1 on the speed oven and 2 on the wall oven). While under mfg warranrty Bosch tried to charge me for the repair saying "we have to pay someone to remove the oven from the wall for the repair". It's a freaking "WALL" oven, meaning it's designed to be installed in the WALL, meaning when it needs to be repaired (under mfg warranty) then it has to be removed form the wall, not at my expense. They said there's a disclaimer in the manual (which I received AFTER I bought it, it was in the box with the appliance when it was delivered). That is something that needs to be disclosed PRIOR to my purchase, not after. Imagine the money Bosch will make from repairing their own appliances while under warranty if they charge 200.00 each time, seeing they've repaired mine 3 times. This is lubricious not to mention illegal. I will never buy anything bosch ever again. I have owned just about every brand of appliances over the years in the many houses I've owned, and this was my first time buying bosch and the first time I've ever had these kinds of repair problems. The quality is badm, the service is even worse....See Moretedbixby
