Need vanity color to go with Ben Moore Revere Pewter walls
Comments (7)That changes my suggestion, yes…. Thinking you have a lot of the same (I have Revere Pewter on my walls and ! I have your floor tile in a bathroom). What I have found to be the perfect accent color to all the taupes and whites is black…I bought two new spool chairs in black…I added two end tables in an Annie Chalk black paint on either side of my white English arm sofa, with white lamps, and have a wall collage of antique botanical ferns that I reframed in black. But, not any black…B.M Midnight 2131-40. That is what I would paint the vanity. As for hardware, in a bathroom, I like chrome finish…bright and clean, but that is your choice. Otherwise, brushed stainless is my choice. One word of warning, sometimes brushed nickel can look pink, or sometimes a grungy yellow tone. Not my favorite....See Moreneed advice on a paint color to go with this tile and vanity
Comments (1)You can get a lot of ideas by posting on the home deco forum too. You could do a warm tan to brown or a nice pale greenish blue. Depends on if you want high contrast or subtle contrast. Lighting will make a difference, at least for me it did. If you go dark, you might need more lumins than if you went light....See Moremy 3 bulb vanity light was installed going down; it should be going up
Comments (6)"Can I change a 3 bulb vanity light base so that the light is going up instead of down? If I can do it---how?" The light fixture should be removable from the wall. Depends on the style, it may connect as a whole to the junction box behind it, or it may connect to a mounting bracket that is installed on the wall. If you know the model, you can find installation instructions on the manufacturer's web pages. IF the light is attached to the junction box, remove the light, rotate it 180 degrees, then reinstall. There should be no need to mess with the wiring. If there's a mounting bracket, the bracket may have a "this side up", or it might not. If not, detach the light from the bracket, rotate it 180 degrees, the reattach to the bracket. IF the bracket does have a "this side up" then drop the light, detach the bracket, rotate and reinstall, then reinstall the light. Prior to doing any work, turn the light switch off, and turn the breaker to that room off as well. You can lighten the load by taking the shades and bulbs off the fixture before working on it. "...or do I need an electrician to do it? " After you read the manufacturer's info, if you feel uncomfortable with any of the steps, certainly call an electrician. Good luck!...See MoreNeed a bathroom vanity light to go over medicine cabinet
Comments (2)I installed the Tech Lighting Span above a mirror in my powder room. It's available in four finishes and down or up/down (aka Direct or Direct/Indirect) light distribution. Rather expensive, though, at $498. Sold on Amazon, ylighting, elsewhere....See More- 4 years ago
