And here's one I heard recently, at the not-free (they put it on your room bill) breakfast in the hotel: "May I take your plate? Why, you eat like a bird, I can't charge you for that." She got a nice tip! (Background: I had a scoop of scrambled eggs, an English muffin, a banana, and coffee. My usual. The guy at the next table had pancakes, bacon, sausage, cereal, eggs, toast, juice, and coffee.)

"You look great!"

"Have you lost weight?"

"Love you, mom" (typically texted, not heard :-))

"You make the best lemon bars ever!!"

"Let's grab a burger and go to the movies. My treat!"

"I won't be home for dinner".

Good, it means I don't have to cook. :)

sprtphntc, there's a fellow at my mom's memory care who can't remember people's names, so he calls all the women "babe". I love walking in and saying "Hi, (name), how are ya?" and he replies "Hi, babe, good to see you, too" He calls my mom "Blue Eyes."

My friend went to Costco yesterday and was going to pick up a package of dried cherries for me. She called from Costco and listed all their dried fruits. They had everything but dried cherries so when I hung up, I went on Amazon. Cherries arrived at noon today. Now I can make my scones. I'm a happy camper.

"I took that off your bill"....pointing to my entree at Cheesecake Factory. Went to eat where my daughter works and when I came back from the bathroom she and a manager were standing by my table and he told me she was such a great worker and since I was her mom he was taking my entree off the bill. lol.

Not words really, but I love the sound of my door bell ringing unexpectedly. It means someone feels comfortable enough with me to know that I will welcome their visit anytime. Then going to the door and hearing, "Hi, we were in the neighborhood and thought we would stop by to visit awhile". Those kind of words are 'heaven' to me. I love unexpected company!

I do not know if this counts, so I apologize Lucille if it is off topic. But one of my favorite things in the whole world is getting into the car,sometime in November, starting it up, and hearing that the local radio stations have started playing Christmas music. Such joy it brings me! Now its true, I listen to it all year off and on. But there is something about when they start it on the radio. Maybe a confirmation that my favorite time of year has started. So, not strictly WORDS exactly, but something I love to hear!
