Comments (100)My friend who lives in the woods told me today that she has a box turtle who keeps coming back to her trailer to eat dog food and ask for a drink of water. Her chihuahua seems to enjoy his company! Tammy, one time I backed over one with my car on the driveway. I am "marked" for life by that event, it was so traumatic. I just wish the powers that be in Washington would have as much kinship for Iraqui children and Lousiana families as we do for turtles and frogs. Maybe someday, when we are no longer on this earth plane, we will understand the intricacies of the human heart. I love this quotation: "What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans, and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty or democracy?" At some point, a leader must emerge in the western world who echoes the humanity of Gandhi. peace, claire in sanford Wonderful meeting you and your family too!...See MorePiquante aka Peppadew seed offer
Comments (16)Lorabell: Glad you are happy with the seeds and glad my wife doesn't read this forum or I could be in some trouble. Anyway, glad to see that you are getting into the peeper growing scene and the great thing about it is that you can grow so many different type for so many different reasons. It is not like growing on single plant year after year. You can grow for the super hots just for the sake of growing them. You can grow lesser hots for eating or seasoning other foods. You can grow ornamental for their beauty and uniqueness. Or any other reason you can think of. Good luck this year, Bruce...See MoreSeeds from F1 Hybrid
Comments (22)Trudi, the bad thing is that I don't have any "well stocked" nurseries near me! I may end up trying more than one variety at the beginning. But, I want to end up with only one. It's only me and my wife. And, I can't see growing a bunch more than we will use. I know I could can them. But, I already have full size tomatoes that I use for canning. I know there is a plethora of online seed cats with cherry tomatoes. But, I don't trust their descriptions near as much as I trust the opinions of members here! ;>) Hoosier, as far as what I'm looking for, you nailed it... right between the eyes!!! I thank you for the Gardener's Delight name and for the T&M source! The description sounds like what my grandmother grew. And, your approval has sealed the deal! I'll definitely be placing an order for them on Monday!!! ;>) Thank you again for your help!!...See MoreMale dog names
Comments (41)I've found that our animals tend to get named based on their personalities and what they look like. All our pets, except Max have been named by us (or their human parents). Some names stuck right away (Howard) and others changed as the pet got to live with us. Butrous was named Milton an we changed it to Puff Butter, but somehow Butrous stuck and he prefers to be called that. Norman was Froggy, changed to Terrance, but Norman DeVille is what he ended up with. Poopie was my Grandparents dog, he was called something else that I couldn't pronounce as a child, but Poopie was what I called him and that is how hw lived out his life. Pooka was a name I thought up for this puppy I had as a teen. A story (another celebrity story) was that I had Pooka at the park and I met this man who really liked my pup and thought his name was interesting. We chatted for a while and I found out later that he was Dean Koontz, the author. A few years later he wrote a story that included the park where we'd met, and a lab named Pooka. Coincidence?? I think not!...See Morelucillle
