Comments (31)Actually I would just say moisture is the main enemy. Here is my reasoning. UV and radiation will crust wood without the presence of moisture. The best personal experience I have is using the wooden tools and staying in the wooden cabin of a gold miner who died in the Yukon of Canada around 1930. As an Alabama native who basically has to cut his way through the wet air in this state, I can tell you that the untreated tools and cabin exposed to dry arctic air were in a mummified state of remarkable preservation, even though I picked them up as they were lain since last use. The poor fellow had gone into Whitehorse and died, thus never returning to his gold claim....See MoreNeed advice on what type of flooring
Comments (0)The duplex dates back to 1951. I think the tiles are original, I was told that underneath these tiles, there’s most likely be asbestos. This is a shared staircase with my tenants and they have a baby. Ripping them up would be a health hazard. I was thinking of putting laminate flooring but vinyl. My daughter has this in her apartment bathroom it’s also waterproof. They look like wood planks in the brown and grey tones.Since it’s a shared staircase, the tenants in winter get the stairs wet I need something that can hold up in the winter. Thank you for âne advice....See MoreWhat type of Kitchen Sink - Material Wise - do you all recommend?
Comments (14)I have had stainless. I now have granite composite for my prep sink and porcelain on cast iron for my clean up sink, both of them in white. The stainless itself was fine but with my hard water I was constantly battling water spots, which got old in a hurry. So for me the granite and porcelain are easier to maintain - or at least, if there are water spots they can’t be seen. Either way - stainless or other material - I think your single bowl, undermount choice is definitely the way to go! I don’t think I will ever go back to a top mount (drop in) double bowl sink!...See MoreMary Dragowski
