I like #4 the best, then #2. I had mentioned to some at the NYC GTG that I ocasionally pass e-sale rugs. One of these days I have to go in there, but I'm worried I might come home with a rug!

The last rug out of my budget is really out of my budget. It's $3600. I can't justify that. I shouldn't have included it! I've been looking for a less expensive one which is similar, but no luck so far.

I like the 2nd one... I think the colors would go well with the rest of the house, but it's so much more pattern than I'm used to.

I prefer #3 of those choices. Also, I would remove the pillows from the pics when playing with that feature.

I agree that #2 looks great! No need to go over budget.

I also like the second one the best. It just GOES. The others seem to kind of stick out like a sore toe to me. The really expensive one is OK but I don't think it's anything special for that kind of money. Probably just a nicer construction. The Southwest design one is nice if you are into that sort of style.

I find the second one to have a dizzy feeling when you enlarge the photo so that would be out for me. Have you tried more than one rug site? Check Overstock, they have many that look like the last one but much less.

To me, your room is quiet and tasteful. Rug #2 is exuberant and busy. If you are ready for the room to feel different than it does currently, I think the busy, colorful pattern is a good choice. But I really love the serenity you created originally.

Thank you all for your input! I decided I could not live with the pattern on rug #2. It's just too far out of my comfort zone. The photo doesn't show the border too well. It has a strong brick/orangey color which I don't want to introduce into my room.

I found this rug on the same site. Unfortunately it doesn't have the photo option with my room.

This rug has the more subtle pattern and soft colors I like. This photo looks yellow, but some of the closer shots, it looks more tan. It has just the right amount of blue. They say the primary color is tan. I'm going to order it. If it doesn't work, it will go back and I'll start over.

I am thinking the main color of the rug shouldn't be the same as the largest colored piece of furniture, which is the sofa. That rug is better with a blue sofa imo.
