What do you like? Do you want solid curtains or a print? Is there a Calico Corners near you? Go there and look at some fabrics.

Thank you all for your input! I decided I could not live with the pattern on rug #2. It's just too far out of my comfort zone. The photo doesn't show the border too well. It has a strong brick/orangey color which I don't want to introduce into my room. I found this rug on the same site. Unfortunately it doesn't have the photo option with my room. This rug has the more subtle pattern and soft colors I like. This photo looks yellow, but some of the closer shots, it looks more tan. It has just the right amount of blue. They say the primary color is tan. I'm going to order it. If it doesn't work, it will go back and I'll start over.

I would not hang the smaller pictures with the larger. I would hang the larger one alone, however it is not large enough as is. Something hung over the sofa should be 3/4 the width of the sofa. You can have it an additional mat or two added and a different frame made. This doesn’t have to cost a fortune. There are places where you do this yourself, for example, The Great Frame- Up. Using multiple mats allows you to pick up colors in the art piece and you can use them to determine the direction you will go in colorways for the accents in the room as well. You can have a slim inner mat in one color and a wider mat in another color or white and a wider color in another color or white. And give this piece of art the wide important frame it deserves. As far as a rug, the earlier examples of vivid rugs with combinations of colors look best. The other rugs are just drab and look like a snooze and like you threw down any old thing just to cover the floor. You might want to think about getting a sofa in a light color such as white, cream, or other light colors, and getting throw pillows in colors from your art piece in delicious textures like nubby prints and and velvets and folded silky fabrics and a marvelous colorful piece such as a big pouf in a colored leather or nubby knit to use as an ottoman or extra seating.

I have seen this color combination (ivory, gray and light rust or camel) with a gray sofa and it looks stunning. The tile floor seems to be the boss in the room so I would not go too far in another color direction combination. The first picture I attached is a rug from Pottery Barn. It has gray, ivory and light rust or camel tones. Coordinating pillows to pick up the color in the rug you choose is a must. Have fun decorating!
