The largest cypress I've ever visited was the late, great Senator Cypress in Sanford, FL. It caught on fire and burned down some years ago. The story about how the fire started absolutely infuriates me and I won't go into it here. Volume should be the measuring stick for the conifers. In terms of volume, the Senator clearly exceeded the other well known bald cypresses in the South, including the Tennessee Titan. I have up close up photos of the Titan and have no doubt about this. The Titan was still a wonderful tree. The Cat Island, LA trees, which I have visited numerous times, are indeed huge at the base with a very quick taper. IMO, there are several cypress trees at Cat Island that are more impressive than the national champ, which I still suspect is two trees grown together, despite DNA evidence that apparently suggests otherwise. One of my favorite cypresses for form is the former Mississippi champion at Sky Lake WMA in west central Mississippi. The current Mississippi champion is located within 100 yards of the former champion. I have not visited the Arkansas champ yet, but from the photos I have it looks very impressive for form.

Wow, your kitchen is so beautiful. I love love LOVE your attention to details; I hope you don't mind, but I printed out a picture of your refrigerator panels to show my cabinet designer. So wonderful...hope you are still loving your kitchen! I also am glad to read your thoughts about the pull-out pantry shelves. In our kitchen layout, we had a long column of cabinetry leftover next to the built-in fridge, and I opted to do a tall pantry there with two pull-outs. Now I'm wondering if it would be better to leave those as simply cabinets?? Have the pull-outs grown on you over time? At any rate, I think your kitchen is outstanding. We have a "Design Homes out of Wisconsin" modular home which is like a stick-built in quality and materials. It has the vaulted ceiling with prow windows. It is 1465 sq. ft. and in 2005 we paid $95,000. Of course, we had to add the septic/well and the land. We built a basement with "Insulated Concrete Forms" because we could do all the work ourselves. That saved lots and we have a full walk-out (dry)basement with 9' ceilings that can easily be finished if we ever choose to do so. This is the first home I have ever lived in (in my life I have lived in 12 homes - 6 new) where there was practically no settling. That is because the modular home was assembled in a temp. controlled factory setting. I would take modular over site-built any day. I would not ever buy a manufactured or mobile home.

I just wanted to share some install photos. We just finished a kitchen of One Sweet Talker. I love how it looks and I love the wider and longer planks. The customer service was again top notch. However, I hate that I have to say this but I feel like I need to share because I wish I'd known. This is our second house with Supercore and we love the company. We just finished the install Thurs. Sunday we had guests over. One of them must have had a rock stuck in their shoe or something. There's now a huge area of scratching. Almost a foot long. It's so disappointing. And I know that maybe other brands would be similar, but it just seems so soon and just under normal wear. 😕 I'll attach pictures in another comment to show how well they show up on this color.
