Okay, so I completely skipped proofing what I wrote, and realized some sentences don't make sense...here's the edited version: I know this may not be the best forum for this question since it's wall color, but I know it's pretty active, and I need help ASAP. I have painters coming Mon AM to do some painting, and can't figure out a paint color for the life of me! The kitchen is currently painted SW Nomadic Desert (SW 6107). I like the color, but most of the house is also painted this same color. Our foyer, dining room, & family room is one huge room, and I've decide to paint that BM Desert Tan. It's a gold-ish tan to lighten that room up some. I have an extra gallon of BM Palladian Blue (which I love, love, love) that I think I may paint in our bdrm, which is off the kitchen. So here's my dilemma...do I change the color, and if so, to what? I have been wanting some color change, not because I dislike the color, but because there is just so much of this one color. (Although if I'm going to paint the main room of the house, and our bedroom a different color, that may resolve my problem of too much of this brown...). So enough rambling...here are some pics of our kitchen. We have dark cabinets, New Venetian Gold granite, and a very neutral tile backsplash with creams, tans, etc. I have a valance in the breakfast nook that is a deep red print with a gold & green pineapple print, and we have a large painting of a crab with sage green & red (so red is sort of my accent color). There is also a 'sitting room' off the kitchen that my daughter uses as a playroom area that will be painted. I could go with a different color there, but think I may keep it the same as the kitchen...but am open to opinions...please, give me your opinion!! :-)

Yes I was thinking about painting the island a deep gray-blue to draw the eye there. But then I thought..too much blue with the pendant lights also being blue? Sina, yes I'm not a big fan of the cabinets either. I expressed to him before he started that I needed a warm gray, but that's not what I got and many tears were shed over it. Honestly the closeup shot I posted of the island looks terrible but in person it doesn't look THAT bad. I'm trying to work with what I've got, but unsure of I should start with painting the island or painting the walls.

I so appreciate all of you! Thank you for your enthusiasm and support! The floors are espresso (minwax) with duraseal max (commercial finish bc we have sons and a cat) on top. The fabric I shared will be used in a large Roman shade above the sink (that three-part window). Remaining windows will have a minimalist treatment TBD.
