Need help buying a new 30" gas range (Bluestar vs Tecnogas)
Comments (38)Hi Jora, I saw the Techno S the other day in a showroom, I have zero regrets about buying the BS instead. Having said that, I was pitting the RCS closed burner model against it. If you are looking at BS, the only real option is the open burner models. I'm an avid cook, and I can't imaging anything else. Cleaning the cast iron is a little work, but everything comes apart. After awhile, you'll get to a point that you can literally just wipe it down (I'm there now). My only complaint is with the oven racks. I wish I would have bought the sliding top rack. The rack that it comes with is not very easy to maneuver when stuff is on there (since its so wide). I'm planning on purchasing that in the near future. Everything else has been great....See Morege cafe 30 inch gas slide in range
Comments (10)Lisay, I love my range. It’s probably ten years old now, but was a great purchase! There is about 3/4” of Countertop behind the range. Probably due to the connections. I loved that it didn’t have a high back of a free-standing range, where all the knobs are. I think those are kind of clunky. Good luck!...See MoreLG Studio 30" Induction range vs. Bosch Benchmark 30" range
Comments (30)@peanutmiracle I purchased a sheet of silicone and used various-size cans and a small bowl to make different-sized circular pads, which I then cut out. I place three or four pads down to support the edges of a pot, or I will use a single bigger pad for my tea kettle (because the single pad can be hidden underneath the kettle and left out on the cooktop full-time. Otherwise, the pads are placed on the stovetop only when I am using a hob. There is a theory that the pads could serve to lengthen the lifetime of a hob's performance, because the hot pot is not making direct contact with the stovetop, keeping the stovetop cooler. I mostly use the Hunts tomato sauce size. I use the biggest one for my tea kettle. Another advantage to using the pads is it helps you eyeball where to place the pot once the pads are in place. Comments (30)I sgree with ptreckel with the idea of moving the range across from the sink and also to move the fridge to same side as the sink You would move from refrigerator to adjacent counter then process food next to sink( lots of counter space). Now only one step to cross to oven and stove and with the fridge is moved to same side as the sink there is space for plating finished dishes. This is just a suggestion, drawing scale plans helps but even 3 D drawings don't give a great sense of space. My planning for kitchen renovations took months and dozens of drawings and you always see an idea that you would love to include the day after you finish your work!! lol. The issue with your kitchen is fire Hazzard, Small amounts of airborne oil can film on the wall and leach into porous grout, leading to a more combustible wall. Change the layout for safety!! plan it to make cooking more enjoyable...See Morejetset2000
