Removing dye transferred during laundry?

Comments (3)Isn't the Rit Dye Remover for when reds and other deep colors bleed in the washer? The product's not for chemically set-in dyes, I believe. I guess you could try it, but I have doubts that it will do what you want it to do. Maybe the green color is so stubborn because Converse makes a good product. Maybe if Rit Dye Remover doesn't work, you daughter could just donate them to Salvation Army or Goodwill or another clothing drive and save up for a different-colored pair. Having to pay for them herself I'm sure is hard and annoying, but life's like that sometimes--wait until she has to start paying for some of her college expenses! Like a textbook she will use only for 1 term!...See MoreRemoving indigo dye
Comments (8)Thanks guys. Oakley - I thought I had a picture of it already on the computer but I don't. I did post it a while back on the purse thread. It was a cheap purse I picked up on clearance at Target this past fall. Not the end of the world if I can't get the dye out but a bummer since I didn't even get to really use it. I was thinking the Rit dye might only be for their colors and but also wondered if it would pull the yellow from the purse. That really bites about the dye transfer thing. These must have gobs of excess. The whole point of me buying them this dark is for the color and I have a feeling they'll be much lighter until I'm able to actually wear them. Thankfully nobody I know has white furniture! I'm not sure where there's even a professional clean around here but that's something I might consider. I may try the hairspray thing too on a small spot....See Moreegg dye removal on hands help please
Comments (4)Well, they tried baby wipes, and google's suggestion of vinegar or dish soap with salt, which didn't help either, baking soda paste doesn't work either. Doug says we should try bike degreaser. and then, they tried 409! It did the trick. Thanks folks, we got it solved. Moni...See MoreUser
