Not me. Believe me no one wants to hear me sing and don't want to hear anyone else who can't sing. We avoid karaoke nights. Hearing some people sing is nails on a chalkboard.

I do! I have a decent voice anyway but the more I drink, the more I sing and the better I sound. I think my karaoke is similar to what others experience.

I see you may live near Eli's on Hwy 280. It has decent Middle Eastern food, ever eat there?

Not me, no way, no how - my singing voice leaves much to be desired!

However, I do enjoy watching/listening to others sing no matter how good or bad they may be. It takes courage to get up in front of others to sing and I say good for them. Plus, I like to see people having a great time and enjoying themselves with good, clean fun.

I came upon Eli's through Yelp after eating at the Pita Stop you said you prefer (in the comment you deleted) that's not far away (maybe just a few miles?) and finding the food disappointing. Eli's has more ratings and higher ratings than Pita Stop and apparently for a good reason. I think the food is much tastier. The Pita Stop is bigger and would be more suitable for a group but I didn't like the food at all.

I don't but last month I was invited to a local place to meet friends and when the karaoke started, the father, his son, and the grandson went up and sang "tequila." It was cute and of course, not many words to remember! LOL.

No amount of alcohol would ever make me even want to listen to karaoke.

My brother's family and mine (including the young kids) went to a local family-friendly karaoke restaurant once, and we all enjoyed both the other guests and their children, and participating ourselves. Haven't done it since, though -- no interest in it as an adults-only activity.

I enjoy hearing it on Saturday nights when this particular spot close to me has it on their outdoor patio!! There must be a cutoff time 10ish cause you don't hear them after that.

judy, my comment was self-deprecating and mocking myself. Of course, the more one drinks, the more one may want to sing, and the worse the result. But that's part of the fun. For some, alcohol makes them less inhibited and the alcohol-fueled clumsy results from efforts to imitate real performers is the point of karaoke.

Karaoke is fresh entertainment for bars and can be a popular customer draw, especially drawing groups.

I won't even sing happy birthday in the company of family members. So that would be a "No".

I don’t do it on a regular basis, but I have and it’s fun. I have a decent voice and there are certain songs and certain artists I can sing ok. And duets or quartets are fun too with the right people.
