What color and style is your bedding? Any accent colors in the room? How much open floor space do you have? Room for a pretty little upholstered chair (if it won't just become a dumping ground) or a small secretary in a corner? With the cherry furniture a painted piece in black would look very nice. A floor lamp and a lower floor plant next to it and Bob's your uncle, a very nice little cozy corner. Fake ficus are a little bit predictable and IMO overdone, try a good-sized faux dieffenbachia or philodendron, or put a faux fern or ivy on an elegant plant stand. (Wrought iron, maybe?) Just make sure you keep them clean and put them in nice cachepots or urns. Every bedroom needs a wastebasket, so make it an attractive one. If the beige carpet needs some jazzing up, you can put a small area rug over it using a special pad that sticks it down to the carpet. I always liked the look of a runner on each side of the bed - they don't have to match. Thinner rugs work better than thick ones. Although some people do not like them, I like dried flowers very much, although I am probably biased because my mother makes beautiful wreaths and arrangements (which is half the reason why I have four LOL). Keep them dusted with a can of compressed air (sold at office supply stores for cleaning computers' innards) and they won't get all gunky which is one of the reasons why a lot of people dislike them. Avoid obviously-dyed flowers and stick to the natural stuff. I once had a big sheaf of dried spray roses in a wall basket - they had been a gift from a sweetheart, but crafts stores like Michaels have them quite inexpensively. White flowers turn a lovely parchment color when dried, if they have not been bleached. As for other wall decor - take a look around at some catalogs that show room scenes to get an idea of what appeals to you. Your bedroom should reflect you and your interests so that it does not appear generic. Maybe it's architectural artifacts like wrought iron, maybe it's shelves with small sculptures and natural objects, maybe it's a collection of little framed mirrors or a handmade fabric wall-hanging. If you live in earthquake country, use very good wall anchors or hangers to hold anything except a lightweight tapestry above or near your bed. "Oook" makes some excellent hangers that are available at Home Depot - they are rated for heavy weights (I always go overboard on that anyway, better too much than not enough) and have a tongue that keeps things from jumping off the hook. Use a product called QuakeHold to anchor things onto shelves so they don't fall.

For starters, true elegance IMO is simple. And I for one understand what OP means by rustic elegance. So: I love white, so I'd go with a creamy white on the walls. I have SW Creamy in a north facing room, and it's warm and soft. Another similar creamy white color, which gets enthusiastic reviews here, is BM Capitol White. I'd get off white linen drapes and an off white rug, maybe with a subtle pattern. Basically various shades of whites with lots of texture. Alternatively, go with a very dark blue wall color and off white drapes, rugs, etc. are there any bedrooms that you like? If yes, can you identify their common elements? Or post them here? Another question: what of this set have you bought/are you planning to get? Everything? Personally, I would not buy the complete set, i.e. get different nightstands, for example.

I'd space them out. I have those in my family room and prefer them spaced apart. Mine are 3-4" and if I weren't too lazy at the moment, I'd walk upstairs and measure...lol.

I'm in agreement with most of the above. Remove all the "littles" - things you can carry in both hands like the square mirrors above the doorway to the sunroom, the pieces above the bed, the vase of dried stuff, the rug by the mirror, the two tiny bedside lamps. Consider replacing the nightstands with floating shelves and some wall mounted corded swing arm lamps. If it will fit, I'd hang that big art above the bed and start shopping for accessories in those rich colors. I'd prefer sheer curtains hung in the sunroom to filter the light. Then put linen or silk panels in the bedroom. Did you ever try the bed in front of the two windows? I think your bench is too small for that wall or for the scale of the bed; try it in the sunroom, hall or foyer.
